mincel, delete template cache and database cache have been done but the error message is still existing. Thank you for your help to check the code, I think my G2 setup has something wrong because I see other sites running your theme without problem.

This is my album for your reference

Hi Mincel,

It's very nice theme. I have a little problem. I can't see the exif button and photo detail.

Great theme! I love it!
Is there any way to integrate this (click on the URL) script into Carbon? http://www.huddletogether.com/projects/lightbox/

tyrann, you should normally see the exif button, if your photos have exif data, "Blocks to show on photo pages" contains "EXIF/IPTC photo info" and "Show 'Photo Properties' icon" is check.

eosguy, I could not look at lightbox in detail, but you have to put the lightbox related files to appropriate places and should include new JavaScript and CSS files in theme.tpl file. Then you need to change the code,

in navigator.tpl file. Please note that the lightbox web page also contains some instructions.

THis is a beautiful theme but since I can't right-click and get my image url, I think I am going to have to use something else for now. It's a shame because this is by far my favorite.

I still got "Undefined Index - columnIndex ... Line 36" error. To prevent this error, I have to put a line before line 36 to force the value of columnIndex to 3, so the micro thumbs will go to next row immediately after displayed each micro thumb.

{assign var="lastIndex" value=$peer.peerIndex}
{assign var="columnIndex" value=3}
{assign var="columnIndex" value=$columnIndex+1}

Now I have single column micro thumbs, not bad acturally ;)

Hello Mincel, I like your theme very much, because it gives all the credits to the photo's instead of the theme. I'm intending to use gallery2 in combination with mambo. At this moment I'm still using Exposé. A very nice gallery also, but it does not allow to make direct links to single photo's or albums. I've discovered this is possible with gallery2.
My question is how to make a decent border against the pictures and thumnails (white or black something like that). I hope you or somebody else know's the answer.

Thanks in forward,

I've just discovered something new again..after installing the imageframe module I saw some new options...I believe I have sometimes some difficulties to get to the bottom of gallery, but that of course says more of me then ....:)
The more I see from gallery2 the more my enthousiasm growths!

best wishes,

Jan

Hi,
your theme is very nice :)
I am new gallery scripting and have a simple question.
What should I change to see all background in black?
I spent a lot of time and changed some 'background' items in the theme.css but I can not get black.
Could you help me in this?

Thanks

Hello Tom, the gallery you have been seeing is not gallery2, but a total different program (also free). The name is expose and is a flashprogram. It's indeed a nice tool, but the problem for me is that I cannot make a direct link to a certain photo or album. With gallery2 that is possible I discovered. At this moment I'm busy to learn to work with gallery2 and it's possibilities (which is a lot) and try to get a more custum look, to begin with the thema from Mincel.
If you are intereseted in more info about Exposé visit this link !

best wishes,

Last past days I've been busy trying out some theme's. My interest was going out to Carbon and PG. With the last I've troubles in the beginning (frustrating), but that was because I was using a minimal package. So now I will go on to compare the booth.
Mincel is there also a special slideshowtheme? Something like in the PG-theme?

best wishes,

Jan

Jan,

In Carbon theme there is no special slideshow view for the moment. The slideshow in carbon theme is an official gallery module. Before hacking the gallery more, I'm not planning to make changes on slideshow view.

Hello Mincel,
Thanks for your reply! I was a litlle bit hoping, that there was a hack. I've tried to change something myself in de slideshow module, but everything goes wrong then; but that of course is my fault because I'm not a programmer. I will look further for the solution that suits me the most.

Good luck with your work, which as I said earlier is already very good.

with kind regards,

Jan

Is there a way to put a note that current image size is a scaled down version, and show the dimensions of the actual size image?

for system_shock and mvettas you can disable the right click pop-up by opening
your theme.tpl eliminate the

to:

<link rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" href="{g->theme url="theme.css"}"/>
<link rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" href="{g->theme url="lightbox.css"}"/>

Download the files from http://www.huddletogether.com/projects/lightbox/ and place them in the themes/carbon folder - with the images going into the images folder. Edit your CSS file so that the image points to the correct folder.

Good luck. (how do I insert codes into this forum?)

Hi Mincel,

I love your theme. One item I am having difficulty is the sidebar. I click the 'sidebar' link and nothing happens. Is there a toggle that I perhaps need to set? for some reason I cannot seem to find it. I should add that I am using G2 and Joomla. so there may be an issue there....

Thanks,
Paul

EDIT: And the solution is: not to disable the G2 sidebar in the joomla GA bridge component. Ah well...At least I found it and if anyone else has trouble they can find the solution here!

AnneL, You need to change photo.tpl file. You can move,

{if $theme.params.showMicroThumbs}

    {g->theme include="navigatorMicroThumbs.tpl"

{/if}

to the line 116 (the line number before the change). With this change all the other blocks will be displayed above the thumbnails.

Hello, mincel.

No doubt, your theme is simply great. I've just embedded it in a new website (http://www.labfoto.ufba.br/wp-gallery2.php).
I would like to ask you if there is a way to adjust the sliding sidebar scrollRight/Left [EDIT: Problem solved :-)]

Thanks

Hi MINCEL,

First of all, thanks for providing us a great theme. Incredible man! I just installed the Carbon Theme 2.1 version (BlackJack) and ... WOW! Congrats. man.

Could you tell me how i disable the CART OPTION (to buy, download with zip, etc.)? I don´t need that option. I tried to check the THEME CONFIGURATION in SITE ADMIN but i didnt find any option to disable that.

(I´d like to disable both the CART ICON and the "ADD PHOTO TO CART" description).

Best regards.

Hi joel,

Cart is not related to Carbon theme. You should go to Site Admin > Modules and deactivate/uninstall Cart module, if you don't want cart icon to be displayed.

heya mincel thanks for the theme Ive mod'd it a bit and its looks awesome, some the things ive changed are image opacity mouseovers with css only (pgtheme has this but think uses javascript), added titles to the icons for easier browsing, search in the nav bar, and changed the general layout for photos (microthumbs on left, image in center, title/info on right and the description/comments underneath). The next thing im trying is to get rid of the slideshow link in the sidebar since it already showing up in the nav links, any idea how do do that? Ive found code to show only the sidebar if there's photos in an album which is useful but Id love to get rid of that sidebar link.

cheers

dotnature, to get rid of the slideshow link in the sidebar, I think you need the change modules/core/templates/blocks/ItemLinks.tpl file.

Thanks on another note do you think this error is related to the theme, I use just a regular search block on my page ( {g->block type="search.SearchBlock"} ), and its fine but when I remove the search block from your custom sidebar (just using admin/themes/sidebar/remove) I get the following errors.

search_SearchBlock_init is not define
search_SearchBlock_focus is not defined
search_SearchBlock_checkform is not defined

The actual source for th error is

I think it has something to do with the theme itself but maybe im wrong.

dotnature, I have tested removing the search block and it works without any error. The the sidebar is not a custom sidebar. I have just polished the sidebar of matrix theme for my needs, the functionality has not been changed. Could you, please, try the same thing with one of the official themes? (eg. Matrix theme)

Using default matrix this error does not show up, but my default matrix doesnt have that custom search in it, the {g->block type="search.SearchBlock"} , but that just a simple call to the search block I added to carbon/theme.tpl so I dont see how that should effect anything. For the error to show up in carbon I removed the searchblock from sidebar,albums, and photos.

This is a confusing error I can't seem to pinpoint it, I can get rid of it by publishing the search block to albums and photo pages in theme settings but then the searchblock shows up at the bottom of the page I ebelive because of the call below "Show any other photo blocks" in the tpl settings.

Can you remove the searchblock from all 3 blocks (sidebar, photos and albums) and see if you get an error.

*update ..man this is truly strange stuff, If I publish the searchbar on album/photo I get no error but it shows up under the photo, If I unpublish them I get the error, If I publish just album searchblock but I get error on album page but not the photo page?? I don't get it.

I removed search from my sidebar (it is only in sidebar), both from the local testing server and the live server and it works without error. I checked the error.log and could not see anything. Then I added search block to my all block lists and removed back without any error.

If you are trying to modify the theme and need help, please post a private message, not here.

I have 2 questions. On the main page main.php where by it says "Gallery
This is the main page of your Gallery" How do I change this text, and question 2 is how do I remove the link at the top of the page that says "Sidebar".

If I could accomplish these 2 things this gallery would be a perfect fit for what I am trying to do.

PLEASE HELP!

legion84, to change the text on the first page you need to "edit album" using the sidebar. If you want to remove the link to sidebar, search for the "Sidebar" in theme.tpl file and remove the related lines.

I am having a problem with the "Shadow" around albums and photos in IE. I know there is some problem with IE and transparent PNG files. I just upgraded from G2 to G2.1. I also upgraded to Carbon Blackjack 1.1.0. I have cleared all the cache in gallery and on my browser, uninstalled and reinstalled the theme, and still no luck. It displays the shadow with a white background. Works fine in Firefox however. Any thoughts?

It is strange! The frames are not set by default when you install a new theme. If you uninstall and install the theme it should reset the frame settings to "None". Also you should be able to change the frame settings to "None" by changing the theme settings.

I can change it to none, but I previously was using Carbon with shadow before the upgrade and it seemed to work fine (or maybe I just wasn't observant since I use Firefox most of the time). The problem is just the white background with the shadow, not the shadow itself.
