Answering own question. I've changed the two pages and the colors.css. I don't see anything broken. And it works.

It would be handy if this was added by Serge. Also better if more of the page were wrapped in the div, then other things on the page could be customized. I don't know the G3 conventions but I used <div id="g-album-html"> and <div id="g-photo-html"> as the top level divs on the appropriate pages. Naming is a bit awkward, but I wanted it to stand out.

Is there any other way for CSS to detect which kind (photo, album) of page it is?

ids for album page: g-album-header, g-paginator, g-album-grid - all are on the same level.
ids for photo page: parent: g-item. on sublevel: g-info, g-paginator, g-photo

I have relocated back to California and in process of changing my work arrangments.
There would be no development or much of participation here until process is completed.

Hey Serge!

Any plans to make the wind colorpack compatible with the serveradd module? I have just started using this module, and it does work, however it does not display properly. I do not know what the progress is until the Pause button disappears, as the progress bar does not show.

Cheers!

Look for .g-thumbslide-ext .g-description in styles.css

PS. I have finished my relocation to Bay Area and would slowly resume some of the work on the theme.
Main goal to introduce some of the functions used by default theme but in the context of the GD.
There is also some work to be done on upgrading ShadowBox module to the latest version.

Hello

Is there any way to make the thumbnails not be square? Thumbnails for horizontal photos look OK but thumbnails for vertical photos are square.
Thank you very much for all your work, this theme looks awesome :)

"Thumb: Aspect Ratio" option of the theme allows you to switch between Actual, digital and film aspect ratios.
there is no support for square thumb at this point because API did not support it.
I think I saw my case about square thumb being completed, but I have not try an implementation.

Hello Serge !

Thanks for updating this wonderfull "Grey Dragon theme" for Gallery 3, I have been using it since 1.5.8 Version, now updated to 2.2.1 .
I have sent you a small donation for your support.

Hi Serge,

I found some issue when displaying 16:10 picture format. The picture and its frame is not centered on a main screen and is alligned to the right side when the picture is turned to "portrait" position. In "landscape" position it's centered correctly, other formats (4:3 portrait and landscape; 1:1, wide panorama) too.

You can see this issue in my testing gallery http://amihere.shacknet.nu/gallery3/index.php/geologie/kapalna-loziska-09/zatisi . The other pictures there in the album are for comparing.

This issue is visible in chrome, opera, firefox, rekonq and konqueror browsers.

Is any way how to fix it?

Thanks,
Petr

Great theme, thanks for all the hard work. I have a question. I'm sure I'm missing something, but the documentation indicates your theme supports 4 columns. What do I need to do to get it to work in 4 column mode?

Thanks!

@yang: thank you very much!
@amihere: I do not see it with my code, but I am not on RC2 yet.
There should be injected custom style to shift frame to the left like this:

Quote:
<DIV style="MARGIN-LEFT: -240px" class=g-resize>

In your version "style" is missing. I am trying to find time to check the theme with latest RC2 but being in the middle of final relocation it is difficult.

@jbillings: 4 columns of thumbs layout would be used when no sidebar is displayed.

Little layout problem IMHO (on the attached screenshot), (under Wind theme there were no such errors).

G3RC2, GreyDragon, Wind Colorpack.

Hi Serge,
This is really an awesome theme! I was using it for my test gallery (G3 RC1) and was working fine but since I've upgraded to RC2 (or at least, I guess), videos are not displayed anymore with firefox, and with IE sometime I need to reload the page to get them played.

This problem doesn't exist with the default theme, that's why I think the theme is not working properly...

Any suggestions?

Thanks and "happy relocation" ;)

Hi,

I've just started using this theme - it is really great, but I'm having some problem getting it to function correctly. I'm using Version: 3.0 RC2 & 2.2.1 of the theme.

- When clicking on rotate 90 degrees (clockwise or counter clockwise) the image doess not appear rotated. IE8 shows an error in the taskbar (ss attached). If I refresh the page the image is rotated.
- When I delete a photo a white page with the error message "{"result":"success","location":"\/index.php\/Test"} is displayed, & the image is deleted.

I have tested the above in IE8 as in FF I cannot even login. In IE8 I have tested using the provided Wind theme, & there are no issues, so I am assuming it is a theme issue.

- When trying to login via FF (regardless of theme) I cannot. Using the wind theme I receive the following error when I click log in "Dang... Something went wrong! We tried really hard, but it's broken.Talk to your Gallery administrator for help fixing this!". Using this theme nothing happens - the login box stays on screen, & thats it. of the FF login issue, as that also occurs in FF, regardless of theme.

Any help/ guidance appreciated.

Thanks in advance,

Emmet

First,Great theme Serge I love the theme options page, the functionality etc.etc.I know its not suported in gallery3 rc2 yet but I'm still using it.My site doesn't have a lot of traffic maybe 10 hits a day.so I don't know how the theme would respond to any heavy traffic.here is what I know Emmetmoore about this theme is #1 you need to switch back to the wind theme if you install any modules #2 if I delete an album, photo in the gray-dragon theme I get this {"result":"success","reload":1}page and if you reload the page I get the dang somethings wrong thing, but if I but if I backspace everything back to /gallery/3 in my browser it works without any errors in the gallery/var/logs.hope this might help anyone.Great theme, can't wait for it to be more compatible with rc2 http://www.gswallcovering.com/ Gene

Ok, a little come back from hiding :)
I am very busy with my new work arrangements and unpacking at the new place so cannot allocate too much time, but I am trying to push some updates out for the theme and modules.

version 2.3.0 is out

  • Adopted for Gallery 3.0RC2 changes (minor template adjustments, css class name changes, etc.)

Please not that it is quick adoption with some small test done. Please report any immediate problems and I will try address it quickly.

Immediate known/confirmed issues:

  • Delete item operation is not working properly from main and context menus
  • Rotation operations are visible, yet are not supported by the theme (fixed in 2.3.1)

@surgeon: since it is translated page, I do not recognize the part of the page, could you elaborate, please?

@bharat: do you need anything from me?

@k0be: not sure yet, please try latest release posted

@EmmetMoore: Theme deliberately hides rotation options as I consider it not part of the theme functionality. Rotation actually introduces degradation of picture quality. With move to RC2 menu become visible and I am going to hide it in 2.3.1 again. Sorry.
Delete dialog did lost its hook since link class name was renamed, please try with latest theme version. It is not clear from the description if issue is present also within default Wind theme (not Wind colorpack of the GD theme), please clarify.

Enjoy

Just done it and still the same problem. I've just retested the standard "Gallery Wind" theme and it works...let me know if I can do anything to help you find out the problem...

Hi Serge,
I agree - I don't see any need for the rotation function to be implemented - it should be uploaded in the correct layout anyway. Happy to have the functions hidden.
In relation to the delete function - I have tried with ver 2.3.0 Greydragon, & Wind theme (not colourpack). Image is deleted when using the Wind theme, but I am still receiving the error - {"result":"success","reload":1} - with the Greydragon theme.

Overall excellent work on the theme & all your modules!! Hope the move & work is going smoothly for you.

Many thanks,
Emmet Moore

@MFR2000: cannot reproduce it. on my installation it is working fine. Code is not from Git directly (neither G3 or theme), but from http://codex.gallery2.org/Gallery3:Upgrading
Do you see the same behaviour here?

@k0be: I would have to test more. I have noticed change in Movie page template, but I have not tested it since I do not host movies. Wind theme is different in design, so even if it working in it there is not guarantie that it would work in GD Theme.

@EmmetMoore: Rotation and Delete would be addressed in 2.3.1 (I have fixed Delete for context menu already, but there is fix required for main menu functionality)
Moved back from mid-west and really enjoing CA again :) Work is great

@Serge:
On your website it's working fine.

I installed gallery3 according this instructions: http://codex.gallery2.org/Gallery:Using_Git, created a new database
and copied the greydragon theme (2.3.0 alpha) in the themes folder. I also installed the shadowbox module.

It seems, that just the lightbox-like forms are not working on my installation (like the one in the attachment). I tested it on most
of the common browsers.

Maybe, there are some changes in the most recent files from the git repository causing the errors.

Greetings,
MFR2000

@MFR2000: I am not using direct git version, so there is a possibility. For example, Delete dialog does not work for me anymore with Ajax. I am getting strange exception and then processing JS goes South.
so I will try in a few days to see if there are more problem surfacing.

Not sure if you can point me in the right direction here or not but I'm having issues using G3, RC2, with the Sidebar. If I allow users to customize where the Sidebar appears (Left, Right, None - i.e. url?sb=left/right/none), the sidebar does not relocate like it should (class name for the div doesn't change. Tried going through some of your PHP code but couldn't find any errors!). Any ideas of what it could be? Other then that (and the fact the new organizer doesn't work!), great theme!!

Just as a side note, if anyone is looking into doing an embedded G3, I'd suggest trying simplehtmldom (php library that allows PHP to do jQuery type lookups/modifications) to make one based off of the page. I did this for my website and, so far, it has worked great!

@JaronRH: sidebar problem: could not reproduce it on mine, it is not enabled on yours. Did not check new organizer yet - will do after addressing immediate issues with RC2

I was having the same problem with videos not displaying in FF. I got them working again with version 2.3.0 of GreyDragon (and latest GIT version of G3) by adding the following to line 167 of gallery3/themes/greydragon/screen.css:

#g-item a.g-movie { display: block; margin: 0 auto; }

Feature request: Could you make the albums stand out more? Be it an overlay or different style, I would just like to have an easier way to distinguish which pictures are actual pictures vs. galleries! Thanks!

@JaronR: right now it is double line, there is a possibility to make album overlay icon to be visible without overlay in left corner, but I do not know if it would be sufficient.
Suggestions?

GreyDragon has a set of meta tags baked in that prevent search engines from indexing a G3 site. Thanks to some help from Bharat, I know how to fix it manually (edit the lines out of page.html.php), but I was thinking that it would be good to either provide an admin option to turn them off or to remove these from the theme entirely (and rely on the "nobots" module to provide this feature, if it is really necessary).

Well you know about how curiosity killed the cat, what lines need to be fixed so search engines can access my site?
Here are a few things that might help with the graydragon theme,Don't know much about code but I know when something isn't working right.the register and ecard module wont work if the index/php/ is at the end of the url And sometimes logging in too, take that out and it works.
Comments has to be deactivated because of to many errors it was produceing in the var/logs.other then that the theme works great.

@pinn8: fair enough - new option has been introduced to allow/disallow indexing. Default is set to allow it.
@gswallcovering: with the recent changes in RC2, I am still working to address it.

version 2.3.1 is out

  • Hide Rotate operations for pictures since they are not supported by the theme
  • Added use of common gallery.ajax.js. Fix issue with some Ajax based links.
  • Layout fixes for Translation form overlay
  • Changed CSS styling for buttons to provide unified coverage for buttons and links exposed as buttons.
  • ADMIN: Fixed options group styles in Theme's Admin panel
  • ADMIN: Advanced Settings for Thumbs and Individual Photo are moved into separate sections.
  • ADMIN: New option - display meta data in Photo description section
  • ADMIN: New option/fix - SEO indexing is now allowed by default. In order to prevent your site from being indexed, you can now use "Disallow Search Engine Indexing" option

I could not allocate much time to solve problem with Delete dialog, so if someone could tackle Ajax adapter code, I would appreciate it.

@gswallcovering: See this post under another thread for what the lines that block robots look like: http://gallery.menalto.com/node/88451. They are stored in page.html.php under the Greydragon theme folders. The question is moot now that 2.3.1 reportedly gives you a checkbox to turn this feature off.

Sorry about the delay - I've been busy and went on vacation! Personally, I edited the colors.css file (for the default greydragon color pack) so that the double border is a little bolder and and a little lighter:
.g-album .g-thumbslide-ext { border-top: 2px solid #43565B; border-left: 2px solid #53666B; border-right: 5px double #53666B; border-bottom: 5px double #53666B; }
.g-photo .g-thumbslide-ext { margin-bottom: 5px; }

It isn't much but, for me, it makes it easier to see the difference between a gallery and photo better when I'm skimming through a page!

strange, lets try the following:

  • uninstall and delete shadowbox module
  • download latest version (1.4). Just in case
  • unzip and upload it and make sure that shadowbox module is located exactly under modules\shadowbox. When copy unziped version make sure you do not have extra levels of folders (inside modules\shadowbox you should see module.info file).
  • activate. you now should see that in module list registration would have some more detailed module info
  • check the theme
