The Gallery team is proud to announce the students that have been selected to participate in the 2007 Google Summer of Code. We are very pleased by the quality of the applications for the selected projects, and are really looking forward to working with these students over the summer. Thank you to all the students who sent proposals, and all the mentors who volunteered to participate!

In addition to the assigned mentors listed above, Alan Harder, Bharat Mediratta, Christian Mohn, József Rekedt-Nagy, Andy Staudacher, and myself will be available to assist students in any general or specific way that we can.
Greetings all,
I assume the new Project "Full Text Indexes for Gallery2 Search" is directly related to Feature Request...
[ 1221234 ] [G2] Boolean Search Please
If so... this is great. Thank you in advance!
jpuziano
I also am looking forward to the index/boolean search. It will make a great addition even if it gives a small performance hit.
Hi to all,
looks like there are some cool features comin up soon
SQlite is a very lean and fast DB which will make parallel access from different applications much faster....hmmm but unfortunately SQlite is not portable to other SQL databases.
I'm quite curious about the final usage in the project...
Cheers
and good luck!

Hi all,
I´d like to know the details of the "WebBased Image Manipulation" project, if you have a roadmap already.
Too bad I heard about this too late, would have sent my application .
A big thanks to the students who will work hard to give us more and more functionalities.
Cheers,
Martin
The time is now, to show you how...
I agree, Nosaj. The boolean search would be very cool, even if there's a performace hit. Well, anyway, it could be optional.
Lionel.
Hi Martin ,
This is Uday and im workin on "Web Based Image Manipulation" and ThanQ for ur wishes . so coming to Details of Project the idea of this project is to make gallery to support bigger set of image operations like rotate, scale, crop, brightness / contrast, hue / saturation, sharpen and blur etc, so that even users without any image editing software on their computers can manipulate their images before they take prints . In addition to this i am thinking to provide more effects like Rico effect and ThickBox effects in the gallery which makes gallery look rich ,so thats the overview of my idea ...
Regards,
-Uday
