Greetings. The Joomla+G2 bridge works beautifully. Well done.

Couple of questions.... I have lost the little navigation icons in every theme. And in the past version tests was able to have the G2 theme override the Joomla Template, meaning G2 could run its own themed "appearance". Have gone through all the settings available and don't seem to be able to get that ability, which I suspect would return the little navigation icons too.

Anyone have a thought on this?

Otherwise, works beautifully....

Alright here is what I have done, maybe someone can add a little help here...

Installed gallery2, installed the shopping cart and the paypal mods...
Worked perfectly!

Installed Joomla
Worked perfectly!

Installed the bridge, and got gallery2 intergrated.
Gallery 2 works perfectly, however my two mods checkout and paypal stopped working...

So everything works well, but no cart...
Any ideas???

What theme are you using in Gallery2? Let's start there.... will work to help you. The Joomla bridge and the checkout mods are excellent tools.

That would be awesome!
Everything is straight up, no themes added... Clean basic install of Joomla, and clean install of Gallery2, only two mods are Checkout and Checkout Paypal for the gallery, and the bridge to get gallery embeded into Joomla, and these are the newest files.

Like I said if I go to //localhost/gallery2 everything works perfectly... If I go to //localhost and then to the gallery from the link I created the checkout does not show...

UPDATE
I think that I found out what it is but don't yet know how to fix it...

Seems that when I am in Joo I am NOT logged into the gallery...
Seems that when I go to localhost/gallery2 where it is working, and log out, it stops working... So I guess you have to be a member and logged in to see the dropdown for the cart options. And this is not going to work for me... SO now I have to find a way for this dropdown add to cart option to work for non members.

Pardon my being out of touch. Was drawn into some technical chaos that needed solving and took many days to get there.

Where are you with this issue? I will work to pick up where you are....

drhiii-

I have a similar problem. I have a fresh mambo install and gallery2 install. From inside gallery2 i can use the shopping cart and print to shutterfly. But when i access it through the gallery2 bridge in mambo it just takes me to a blank screen after i hit print with shutterfly from the shopping cart. This only occurs for the cart. If i do an individual image it will work. But if i add it to the cart and the hit the shutterfly it just goes to a blank screen. I am also running this site off a virtual host on apache server. Any help would be greatly apprectiated. The site is also www.matthewandtraci.net. If you want to check the gallery out and test go for it.

I finally decided to integrate and for some reason my Main Menu is now completely out of whack on the gallery2 page.

http://www.coastercommunity.com/component/option,com_gallery2/Itemid,75/?g2_view=core.ShowItem&g2_itemId=7

I'm guessing that this has something to do with the defauly size of the gallery since it's pushing the main menu down.

Any suggestions?

I really need some help. I've had gallery and joomla integrated for a while now and i've started having a problem lately. I'm using Joomla 1.0.10, Gallery 2.1.1, and the newest bridge.

Here's my problem:

When I open a browser (firefox or IE), and go to my site, I try to login like normal. I immediately get a popup telling me I am not authorized to view this resource. I click ok, and it returns to the homepage with the login. I click login again, but this time it works.

Now, if I close my browser and reopen it, I have the same problem all over again. When I come back to the site, I am logged out and I must repeat the above process.

So, why does my site never remember me, and why do I get this error message upon initial entry to my site?

Thanks for any help, I've posted this at the bridge developer's site and I haven't heard anything for weeks.

Thanks,
Jeff

It's likely an issue with Joomla 1.0.10, since other components are having the same problem. Before upgrading, always wait a while, searching the upgrade forums to figure out what issues will come with an upgrade. I'd say revert back to 1.0.9, or there are patches and additional updates to assist you in remedying the issue.

Well considering I just had one of my sites hacked that was running an older Joomla, I don't think reverting back is an option. I actually did wait a while before upgrading and people seemed to be doing ok. I took the login page off the homepage and put a login link in the main menu. This helps a little bit but what i've realized is that the homepage is the one that appears not logged in.

Okay not really about the G2 bridge but about the Imageblock mod for Joom... I have searched and searched for the last few days and am about to slam my head against the wall. I love G2 and this is the last hurdle I have with it.

How does one get the pictures to display horizontal using the mod_image block? I have tried to mess with the code but I am not seeing really what / where I can change this. What I want is to display 3-4 thumbs horizontally.

I really do appreciate any help. Thank you in advance :)

Hi All,

I'm running Joomla 1.0.10 and just installed Gallery2 v2.1.1a minimal, and the Gallery plugin v2.0.13 beta2. I'm also running other database apps, and with Gallery I'm now getting a lot of "Cannot redeclare" function errors surrounding the ADO functions (ADONewConnection) and a few others. Most notably, it appears that the same function names are being used by Open Realty. Short of changing all the function names in one or the other app, is there a quick and easy way to correct this? Like a way to make PHP function names Local?

Thanks.

well I have the integration bridge between Joomla and G2 working moderately well at http://www.outlawnation.us, I need to focus on getting the styles for the entire site a little bit cleaner - so that is my priority this week.

I am having some issues with the Gallery2 slideshow in the bridged site, I think it perhaps has something to do with the SEF (i'm using OpenSEF), but I'm just not sure. I'll kick it around for a few days before I post a "please help" on this site.

I'm getting an error with the componant in the backend of mambo in the gallery componant config. Fatal error: Call to a member function on a non-object in /mounted-storage/home10/sub012/sc16794-WPLY/mysite/components/com_gallery2/classes/core.class on line 184

I have a fully integrated site with another host and am in the process of migrating. Mambo and smf are now working well again and bridged but the gallery bridge is not working for me with the above error. Latest mambo 4.5.4, gallery 2.1.2 and com_gallery2_v2.0.13-beta2.zip

Is this componant still supported for mambo? The developer states he will support it for Joomla only?

I'm experiencing the same problems as drhiii and tetonedge.

When running G2 with com_gallery2 in Joomla (all most recent releases), I can no longer use my checkout options without errors for shutterfly or photoworks.

Shutterfly produces the following error when I click "GO": Fatal error: Call to undefined function: getwidth() in /home/sites/www.eikenberrys.com/web/gallery/modules/shutterfly/PrintPhotos.inc on line 185

And photoworks never "recieves" any pictures from the cart once the photoworks.com site loads. There are just placeholders where the pictures are supposed to be on the photoworks site.

The slideshow function doesn't work either when in a Joomla component. It loads, but then just sits there and never refreshes to the next image.

All these features work fine in standalone Gallery2. Very wierd. Please tell me that someone has a fix for this.

hello bearfox ...

I can't help you, but telling you there are lots of problems arising with the latest joomla 1.0.11, they have changed some security policies, and Safe Mode might be something for you to research...
good luck !!!!

in reply to myself... I use Siteground as my host, and the G2 Bridge {perhaps the random image module} was consuming an excessive amount of resources... they throttled my site - requesting that i resolve the cause of the server resource demand, or that I upgrade to a higher service which would allow me more resources...

So, i had to upgrade my service from them, to allow for the extra processing - but i plan now to just abandon the bridge and apply a common theme/template for G2 and Joomla... :-( Not something I want to spend time doing....

Kudo's however to Siteground, they did a great investigation to the cause of the problem, and were extraordinarily responsive to getting my site moved to the better hosting platform and investigating root cause of the performance problem.

in regards to the horizontal display...

the images are wrapped in a div tag with the style "one-image" applied to them.

you simply need to add the following to your main css file

.one-image {
float: left
}

you might also want to stick some padding in there, such as

padding: 8px;

to give them some room. this will cause each image to display in line.

furhter customization can be done to the file ImageBlock.tpl in the modules\imagaeblock
templates directory

I don't think that's possible. Why do you want to have more than one bridged to the same joomla install?

I installed the Gallery2 component with my Joomla and I'm receiving and error in Internet Explorer...which says: (this is when gallery is veing viewed from the frontend by the way...)

"Problems with this webpage might prevent it from being displayed properly."

Line: 9
Char: 5
Error: Object Required
URL: http://www.mysite.com/joomladirectory/index.php?option=com_gallery2&Itemid=29

This error is definitely something to do with the component code, as it does not show up when Gallery2 is standalone.

Any ideas on what to do to fix this?

My information is as follows:

Joomla version: 1.0.11
Gallery Version: 2.1.2
Component Version: 2.0.13

I have an old Mambo site that included Gallery2 that was installed in October of 2005. I do not know what version it is and have not upgraded it. I transferred it to another directory where I am attempting to integrate into Joomla 1.0.11. After changing the Gallery2 config.php file and navigating directly to the gallery, it works perfectly. But after installing the various gallery2 components, it does not.

I've tried:

2.0.11 - BACK END CONFIGURATION IS BLANK
2.0.11A - BACK END CONFIGURATION IS BLANK
2.0.12 = WORKS BUT HAVING DIFFICULTY THE Relative Server Path to G2 THAT DOESN'T SAVE
2.0.13 - BACK END CONFIGURATION IS BLANK

With either of these solutions above, the gallery shows up as a front end component, but the photos do not. Whereas navigating directly to the gallery, all photos are visible. Any hints?

hi-

I just installed G2 and bridge. The standalone works fine. And i can access G2 from my site. Problem is no images appear- just the text and frames but no images. I installed g2 in /andres_gal2 so it would seem i have given the correct paths..... thanks for any help!

/home/analogia/public_html/gal2/andres_gal2/
http://www.andresamador.net/gal2/andres_gal2/main.php

problem solved- syntax was off for the url path!

I am still scratching my head on this one. Here's how my back end component is configured:

Full Server Path to G2:
/home/u7/supersite/html/race/gallery/
Relative Server Path to G2:
?????????? SEE NOTES BELOW
Path to Joomla:
/race/
embedUri:
/race/component/option,com_gallery2/Itemid,108/

For the Relative Server Path to G2, I have tried unsuccessfully to use the following:
/race/gallery/
/race/gallery
race/gallery
race/gallery
/gallery/
/gallery
gallery/
gallery

The interesting thing is that when looking at the gallery from the front end I right click the image link, where the image should be and it says the image gallery is located in the /race/ directory, which is not the case. The image gallery is located in the /race/gallery/ directory. So somewhere, the path is missing the /gallery/ directory.

Any ideas or suggestions?

I have been working on a site for my childerns school. We have joomla installed and working now we wanted to install Gallery2 and the G2 Bridge. We also have that installed but I would like to build a little security into the album. We don't want just anyone to see the photos on the site. We would like the users be a registered user on Joomla before they are allowed to view any of the albums. Is this possible and if so what do i need to do?

thanks for you help.

just for reference the site is www.vcsmo.org

is there a way to control the modules link target parameter?

setting the target to "blank" opens another browser window.

i'd like to popup to a javascript controlled window using the photo.tpl from gallery2.

modifying the mod_gallery2_image.php seems the likely starting point but thought I'd see if anyone has done this before.

Here is my secret: When you are having free web built to your site try to get them placed within the content (within the description portion of your reciprocal link for example). Also in link building you will want to insure you're varying the terms of your anchor text. Creating hundreds of links with identical anchor text will quickly be detected as a link building effort (i.e. not natural) and thus will carry little hosting weight. Different anchor text for your links will appear more natural and thus will have a more positive impact on your rankings.

Hello!

I have Mambo installed successfully. I also have gallery 2 installed successfully.

However, I cannot seem to be able to install "component_version_2.0.14.zip" bridge. I go to installers -> Universal in mambo. I upload and install this component and it says it has loaded succwssfully. However, I go compoenents nothing there to configure.

Any one help? I did by mistake install an old version of the bridge successfully and uninstalled it. But that should not cause this problem? Should it.

Also, is the bridge compatibale with both Joomla and Mambo? Also, will it always be since the site I found the link to the bridge only refers to Joomla. http://wiki.4theweb.nl/w/Main_Page

Many thanks in advance.

Pls ignore my last post. I fixed it! Well, more like worked out what the problem was. When downloading the brigde from the site it downloaded it within a zip file. I have to extract it from the zip file first and then upload it. I am now trying to configure it but it is asking for JoomlaLib? well I am now looking into this..

Hi Sorry for posting loads of messages but do have a problem now.

I installed "component_version_2.0.14.zip" bridge successfully, installed JoomlaLib successfully.
Now i go to components -> Gallery 2 -> Settings. I get the following error:

Fatal error: Undefined class name 'mossef' in /home/john/public_html/index.php on line 57

Can someone help me resolve this error?

Many thanks in advance

I am using Joomla 1.0.12 with Community Builder 1.0.2, which I already have successfully bridged with SMF 1.1.1 I would like to bridge my Gallery 2.2 installation (also via the CB module) so that my users have to log-in only the once to view all these components. Having searched here, the most recent bridge I can find is 12/05. From your discussion above, I am assuming there is something more recent that I have yet to find. Has anyone bridged like this -via CB? How successful was the bridge? Were any hacks necessary to achieve CB integration? Can you point me towards the most recent versions please?

TIA

I am in the midst of finalizing a site and am having some slight but irritating issues with the template as viewed through Internet Explorer and the Mac browser. The Gallery2 install is pushing into the right column. Initially, I thought this might be due to the template being too narrow, but I have since widened considerebly to realize that it could not be due soley to the template width, since even on the pages with one or two small thumbnail images, the content section still pushes into the right column. Does anyone have any advice on this issue?

Thank you,

I have a fix for the modules/mod_gallery2_image.php file.

Problem: A Joomla Website, the preview gallery2 module (mod_gallery2_image) displayed all images instead of the specified amount.

Here is the fixed file, apologies of this was already said, i searched and found nothing straight away:

<?php
/**
* @package mod_gallery2_image
* @copyright (C) 4 The Web
* @license http://www.gnu.org/copyleft/gpl.html GNU/GPL
*/
defined( '_VALID_MOS' ) or die( 'Direct Access to this location is not allowed.' );

require_once("components/com_gallery2/init.inc" );
global $g2Config, $mosConfig_live_site;

//parameters
$align = $params->get( 'align' );
$block = $params->get( 'block' );
$header = $params->get( 'header' );
$title = $params->get( 'title' );
$date = $params->get( 'date' );
$views = $params->get( 'views' );
$owner = $params->get( 'owner' );
$number = $params->get( 'number' );
$max_size = (int) $params->get( 'maxSize' );
$link_target= $params->get( 'link_target' );
$albumframe = $params->get( 'albumframe' );
$itemframe = $params->get( 'itemframe' );
$strip_anchor= $params->get( 'strip_anchor' );
$moduleclass_sfx = $params->get( 'moduleclass_sfx' );
$count = (int) $params->get( 'count' );
$new_block = $block;
if(!empty($count) && $count > 1){
for ($i=1;$i < $count;$i++){
$new_block .= '|'.$block;
}
}
$block = $new_block;
//What to show
$array['show'] = array();
if ($title == 1) {
$array['show'][] = 'title';
}
if ($date == 1) {
$array['show'][] = 'date';
}
if ($views == 1) {
$array['show'][] = 'views';
}
if ($owner == 1) {
$array['show'][] = 'owner';
}
if ($header == 1) {
$array['show'][] = 'heading';
}
$array['show'] = (count($array['show']) > 0) ? implode('|', $array['show']) : 'none';
if(!empty($number)) {
$array['itemId'] = $number;
}
$array['blocks'] = $block;
$array['maxSize'] = !empty($max_size) ? $max_size : 150;
$array['linkTarget'] = $link_target;
$array['itemFrame'] = $itemframe;
$array['albumFrame'] = $albumframe;

$content = '';
$content .= '<div align="'.$align.'">';

if($block=="specificItem" AND empty($number)){
$content .= 'Error. You need to specify an ID number to display image';
} else {
core::initiatedG2();
list ($ret, $imageBlockHtml, $cssBlock) = GalleryEmbed::getImageBlock($array);
if ($ret) { print "<h2>Fatal G2 error</h2> Here's the error from G2:<br />" .$ret->getAsHtml(); }
$content .= $cssBlock;
$content .= ($strip_anchor == 1) ? strip_tags($imageBlockHtml, '<img><table><tr><td><div><h3>') : $imageBlockHtml;
GalleryEmbed::done();
}
$content .= '</div>';
?>
