New builds of NetPBM avaliable!

Its been several years, but we finally have a new release of statically compiled binaries for NetPBM that should work on your system! This release, named netpbm-gallery-1.4 to coincide with our current Gallery version, now include the pnmcomp binary. pnmcomp is required for the watermarking function introduced in 1.4.3-RC1 to work properly (if you use NetPBM for image processing).

Check out the new files on our Download Page, and make sure to try out watermarking in 1.4.3-RC3.

Very glad for this feature. Working great under Mac OS X Panther client (10.3.3). Off to create some nice watermarks now ;-)

I am afraid that the new netpbm binaries (compiled for Linux-Intel) are not working correctly. Gallery gives out error messages when you try to upload new images ("thumbnail could not be created"). I deleted the 1.4 binaries and installed the old ones (1.1) (watermark-function disabled). Now it works fine again.<br />

I think it may just be a problem with pnmscale. See <a href="http://gallery.menalto.com/index.php?name=PNphpBB2&file=viewtopic&t=15916">this post</a>.

If you are running Windows with Apache (for example. I am running Xampp on WinXP Home) and you have the "Unable to make thumbnail (0)" error, then go to this page: <br />

Look halfway down, save the file <br />
cygjpeg6b.dll, 58k <br />
into the same directory as NetPBM and it should work fine. No guarantees, mind, but it's worked for those that tried it!

Hello.<br />
I think that new netpbm-gallery for FreeBSD(netpbm_gallery-1.4-freebsd.tar.gz via SourceForge) does not contain "pnmfile". <br />
Is new netpbm-gallery such a thing?<br />
