Gallery featured in Linux Toys II : 9 Cool New Projects for Home, Office, and Entertainment

In November 2005 Christopher Negus published Linux Toys II (ISBN: 0-7645-79995-9), the followup to the original Linux Toys book published in 2003.

The Gallery team is honored to be amongst other open source projects like MythTV, Damn Small Linux, Icecast and LTSP to mention some of the other projects featured in the book.

In this version the book covers nine projects and are especially delighted to see that one of the nine projects featured in the book is indeed Gallery. Chapter three goes into detail on how to set up Gallery 1.x from scratch, it guides you through the configuration wizard and goes on to show you how you manage and maintain a working installation. Gallery 2.0 was not available at the time the book got printed, and is thus not included in the book.

Besides featuring prominent Open Source projects, the book also goes in detail explaining the basic usage of Linux and an introduction to GPL. It even features a complete Fedora Core 4 installation guide.

The book has easy to follow examples, with clear concise examples and explanations.
