Gallery 2.2 Localization Status
Gallery 2.2 is nearing its official release and we would like to encourage everyone to help us push as many localizations as possible towards the top of the list before release time. Read on for more details..
Great work has been done by the translators for a great number of languages, but we would love to be able to ship the next version with more translations over the 90% mark or even better, with a 100% translation status.
Have a look at the Localization Status Report for Gallery 2 and pick a language you can help us with. Then head over to the documentation to get started. If you need assistance, please post in the forums and we will try to help you as much as we can.
The Gallery team would also like to take the this opportunity to thank all the existing translators, you are all doing a great job in assisting us in trying to make Gallery 2 a truly great, international product.
So far we have seven languages at 100% and three more over 95%... I hope to see those updates keep rolling in! Just about one week left!
How much time will it take to complete the Dutch language? I need to correct/translate 15 percent of the files. Would that take much time?

Depends on your translation speed and how long the remaining messages are.
If you have to do the whole 15% from scratch (no fuzzy strings, ...), we're talking about 10 hours maybe. Maybe someone can do it in 2h, and someone else needs 24h for it. Hard to estimate.

Hi, I am quite new to these things, I have read the documentation about the localization, and I am a bit confused. I found that there someone has already doneg some translating on my language lcalization (the table says 24%), but where can I get the latest version of that language failes available, so I can help with translating. Thanks
Jan
- Either use subversion (SVN), see: http://codex.gallery2.org/Gallery:Using_Subversion
- Or get the latest nightly snapshot from http://www.fw2.org/pub/gallery/ . That's the only nightly snapshot mirror which includes the development and original .po files.
Note: If the translation status of your specific locale didn't change since G2.2 RC-2, you could also download the official G2.2 RC-2 development package.

Someone might want to localize this announcement for English. The possessive form of "it" doesn't use an apostrophe. ;)

Heh, well the author is norwegian... (of course the proofreader (me) should have caught that..)
Man, there is no hiding is there? ;-)

If needed I can perhaps help a bit by translating into Dutch. But how do I know what there is left to do and what must I know (except for English and Dutch) to help translating?

Please read:

See the above post about how to download the latest version of the .po files. Dutch is at ~85% right now.

Just a few days left! Get those translations submitted!
Things are looking great, with 8 languages 100% translated and a total of 26 languages over 50%. It would be great to see Spanish and Czech get those last few in to reach 100%, or updates to languages like Russian or Dutch which are in the 80s but haven't been updated in a while. Updates for all languages are welcome... thanks for your help!
Excellent! We plan to package and release G2.2 probably later this week. So please hurry!
