Rwatcher - do you have any idea at all why none of your modules work in the 3nids theme? Calender,Updates,Contact and assumably this one as well? Nobody seems to pay attention to that issue, so I took my chance here. thanks for lending the thread...

I have no idea what the issue is. Although I can say that Calendar doesn't work at all with the current git version of Gallery 3, so that could be part of the problem...

Also, I've set up a codex page for this module here:
http://codex.gallery2.org/Gallery3:Modules:export_facebook

I linked to that URL in the help page and on the Step 1 page, where users have to enter the URL.

Nice work. Thanks for your time.

Awesome! And it runs so much faster than the G2 version! The drop-down-list is not populating properly though ~ Looks as though albums imported from G2 into G3 do not have sub-folders (the subfolders are all listed at the end of the G2>>G3 importation session)... therafter population of the list is normal (I.E. for items original to G3)

I've been looking forward to this module for a long time! Many thanks to you both!

What else from this project might we be able to look forward to? Perhaps the fetching of Fb comments and associating them with their respective images on G3 as described by Gboudreau?

gboudreau wrote:

Fetching comments from FB though should be possible, using FQL (Facebook SQL), and the Comment, Photo and Album tables:
http://wiki.developers.facebook.com/index.php/Comment_(FQL)
http://wiki.developers.facebook.com/index.php/Photo_(FQL)
http://wiki.developers.facebook.com/index.php/Album_(FQL)

But from what I know of Gallery comments (I don't use them), they are associated with a user ID (the user when entered the comment). How do you suggest I associate FB comments to un-existing Gallery users? Use a 'From Facebook' Gallery account (that might need to be created manually), and prefix the comment with the FB username?

Works real nice ...

A bit confused - The url under the imported image switch between beeing a link and plain text??? Maybe an issue in facebook itself. Just wanted to mention. Should be a link ofcourse.

Note: 3nids theme users. The link back from FB to G3 goes directly to the image page. The Lightbox is not triggered and it does not look nice for now.

request: Is it possible to grab the image title instead of file name and no file extension. Would be much nicer.

4,5 stars of 5 possible from here. Both for the app and the module. Looking forward to see comments working. after that this is a 5 star feature that will give you exposure beyond belief.

Thanks, thanks and thanks again. This cut my workload to ½ when upping to the world.....

By the way... How do I up 2nd time 2rd time etc. Where is the button? :-)

FB photo descriptions can't contain HTML code, and thus can't contain a real URL. This is why the URL appears as text.

What URL should be used to look nice?

hebhansen wrote:

rWatcher: The export_facebook module should indeed read the title of the photos, not the filename. (If the title = the filename, then it would be the same.) Whatever the title is, this is what should be sent to ?a=photos requests.
hebhansen: If you want the image to be imported in FB without the extension, you'll need to make sure the extension is not in the photos title.

What button? Once you uploaded an album, you need to confirm the uploaded photos using the standard FB photos interface. At that point, you've now exited the Gallery Import FB app, so the only way to go back is to re-start the app. The easiest way is to have it in your bookmark bar, at the bottom of the FB pages. Click the Applications button in the lower-left corner to Edit Applications, and add Gallery Import in your bookmarks.

1) Funny - my url's turned up as links, then text, then link and now text

2) 3nids - I don't think there is another url for the lightbox. I guess it enables when loading the album page. Same image as above is here:
http://www.image.agentura.dk/index.php/Art-Work from where it opens in Lightbox. I assume this should be included in the theme and the Lightbox trigger. Suggestions are welcome though

3) Perfect on the title issue. Yes ofcourse extension should not be in title.

4) What you are saying is that images added to the chosen album are transferred to FB, and I will be prompted in FB if I wish to load images....
- can I add new sub-albums?
- Can I add existing sub-albums?
- Can I add other albums than the one already chosen?
- If I change a Title after FB transfer, will the edits get updated at FB?

Gillaune - ideas for your app.

is it possible to add by selection to skip the confirmation and let it check for new addition to a given album, lets say every 4 hours ... or 12 hours/24hours. All images will then in turn get transferred.

In case I embed G3 one day into Drupal and I want the url to appear as the embed link (www.drupal.com/G3/nicepic.jpg) is that an option?

or maybe hardcode part of the url:

enter your site name without www and optional folder to G3 without trailing slash
example: mysite.com/g3

code: "http://www."
human addition: mysite.com/g3
code: "/index.php/export_facebook/export_fb"

May need concideration for G2

an option to choose where the up' should go would be beautifull.

If I have images from around my G3 I up' to FB. Point them into the same album on Facebook (My wife - artwork - cool pix etc) could be nice...

If you're talking about the app not allowing import into FB of pictures that are not visible to anonymous users, that's already done.

Does this mean that there *is* a way to let FB import pictures that are only available to authenticated G2 users? I thought this was not possible (yet, at least).

Thanks!

Agreed ~ this is a 5 star app. One of the reasons for said fact is that it is simple yet insanely useful. Lets not loose too much of that. I would love an import-comments-from-Fb module for G3 though...

On that note ~ will the facebook photo id not remain the same regardless of the title assigned to the photo? In this case on import into Fb, the Fb app could write to a table recording which Fb photo ID's correlate with which G3 photos... Could this then be used to guide comments back home to G3 where these valuable records of human interaction can be stored safely. And this would also allow for comments to not get lost despite editing or moving of an image on the G3 side...

My random for the evening... Yikes its to late to write long sentences!

And it appears my album tree in Fb is not populating properly for the component which was imported from G2

It looks good to me (example: http://eric2001.brinkster.net/gallery3/index.php/export_facebook/export_fb?a=photos&id=44 ), are you sure you're using the latest code?

Brilliant... No file names! I still have a badly populated album list for albums imported into G3 though... Anyone with similar issues?

There is no screen of this in Gallery. It's all taking place in FB.

For this module to work for me.

1) Is it possible to allow browsing across more albums in G3 and select from more albums in one upload?
2) Define a recieving album. Create new or select existing

If not so it's to much selection of pics to up and I might as well up from PC directly to FB

Gillaume ... Request for the FB App...

From my profile I can add the pics. They dump in an album in my profile.

I administer 6-7 Fan Pages at FB. This takes place via my profile. At pages I can up pics as normal. I would be great if the upload from here could be pointed to a fanpage instead of the profile.

Ex. of fan page:
