while I am uploading, and try to expand or browse other folders, sometimes I get this error:

Quote:
a Unexpected Error
java.lang.Throwable: java.lang.IllegalArgumentException: empty argument - http://mysite.com/Gallery/index.php/json_album/children/407
Unknown.l6(Unknown source:0)

Unknown.TK(Unknown source:0)
Unknown.anonymous(Unknown source:0)
Unknown.YA(Unknown source:0)

1- I want to know what does this mean?
2- does this mean that any of the files that were being uploaded gave this error, or it is just related to the expand folders thing
3- anything could be done to fix this from my end?

Thanks

I can see this thread has been dead since January but does anyone know a) if this works with 3.0.1, b) if so why it doesn't show up anywhere I can find it after activating it as a module, and c) if not is there any other alternative to the flash organize/upload apart from the simple HTML one?

A lot of people are complaining to me they can't upload using add photo and they used to be able to use the uploader in the standard 3.0 organize but that option is removed from 3.0.1.

A javascript uploader would solve a lot of problems.

Strangely enough I've also tried adding this module to a site with Gallery 3.0 and I'm getting the same thing. The module simply doesn't show up anywhere in the gallery.

I've added modules before without any problems and been using Gallery for a couple of years. So I do know how to do that. Changing the theme from Grey Dragon to Wind has no effect, nor does disabling the existing organize module. Tried in both Firefox 4 and Chrome.

Has anyone else had this problem? At the moment I'm assuming it must be either a clash with another module, which I will be testing, or some fault in the downloaded module from gallerymodules.com

The module should show up under the admin interface..

It's very strange. Enables in Modules so it's there, but not showing up in Admin, either as a separate item or as a sub off one of the main listings. Perhaps it doesn't like newer versions of browsers released since January.

Any new versions of this module? I used to use it well till I removed the index.php from the url and it stopped working.. my version is 16-April-2010

or any workaround this problem?

Thanks,

wise_mike, the only way to make it work is to put index.php in the URL.

However, this module doesn't work with IE 9 nor new Firefox, i think b/c google gears doesnt work with them.

Gears is no longer supported by Google

Any updates coming to this module?

thanks alik99.. bad news.. it's funny because gears is not even supported for the new Chrome! I hope Glooper move it to simple flash or html.. or even combine it with the current simple gallery Organizer, as it is great and fast, but missing some important features like upload and others..

My main use was an ability of GWT to resize the original files before upload.

I am interested to know how are folks uploading their files?
nowdays, with file size being 3+ MB, it takes too long and takes too much space to upload originals...
so,i was using GWT to resize the files before upload.

HI All..

Sorry for not responding for a long time, I've been busy with work so haven't had a chance to work on this.
Yes, google has put a spanner in the works for this module by closing the Google's Gear plugin. Which means this module no longer works with the latest round of browsers. I am fairly certain I will be able to rewrite a lot of the functionality using HTML5 techniques, so fingers crossed I can get the module working on the new breed of browsers, the only area that may prove tricky is the resize, but I'll see if I can come up with a solution.

Probably won't get a chance to do this work for a few weeks.. but when I do I might release it under a different name to emphasis the fact it is only is javascript and html5... but I'll update this thread if I do.

Thanks Ben!

Please do look at the resizing b/c I think it's the only way to resize pictures before uploading them. Please correct me if I wrong, I'd like to know other ways to upload with resizing.

thx

and it would be great if it would still work, even after removing /index.php/ from the url.. or have an option for that..
