guyforget: just had a look at your site - nice btw. - I saw you've put an 'updates' album directly into the root. Good idea, but I didn't check here for not 'real' albums - that causes yous spinning ... I will fix that.

Well done, Sir! Bravo!
The new album.tpl works perfectly as far as I can tell.
Youre doing great work here, LFrank. Cheers to you and PGilbert as well as all of the contributors to Gallery2.

Ok, new problem. And I dont exactly know what handles this, and if its because of the theme, or gallery itself, or maybe by some long shot my url_rewrite setup which Ive already wrestled with this afternoon trying to fix this problem.
Then use the drop-down in the sidebar to choose a completely different album. It just tacks on the folder name of the album you want to the url of the album youre viewing, resulting in file not found. Click your <<Back button and use the DHTML links to choose a completely different album. Same thing.
Weird?

Seriously?
Ok - it works from the directly linked sub-album. Start at the root and click into any other album except for the updates album. From there, try to use the DHTML or Drop Down in the sidebar.
If that works for you, then I must be crazy.

The PGlightbox issue on both Firefox & IE6 has something to do with Gallery running embedded in WordPress and probably URL Rewrite. Going directly to Gallery2 (bypassing WordPress) and all works fine on both Firefox & IE6.

This is crazy, but theres no way that its a browser side error.
Check out the attached image. The red circle shows the address bar. Im viewing album /prints. Start at http://gallery.guyforget.week4paug.net and click into the prints album. You cant link directly to /prints, you need to start at the base url.
From there you look at the orange circle. You can see that "Travel & Vacations" is also orange and underlined. This is because my mouse is hovering over it, even if its not shown in the screencap.
Then look at the blue circle in the bottom, that is showing the link that my mouse is hovering over. See how it has simply tacked /travel onto the end of /prints? Thats not supposed to be like that, and it 404's when you click it because the album /prints/travel doesnt exist.
Theres no way that this only happens in my browser. Ive deleted the template cache and my browser cache multiple times and its always the same.

Y'all are right. I checked it from a friend's, and it worked fine for them.
So I came home and selected to view the gallery as a guest. And it worked. So it seems like it may have something to do with being logged in as admin...? How could it just be my browser? Ive cleared my cache 100 times since this morning...

OK - I think that I have verified that this has to do with being logged in as an admin.
I used another computer to browse as a guest and everything worked fine. I logged in as a user and everything worked fine. I logged in as myself [admin mode] and the bad linkage happened again. Logged out and it was right back to normal.
I could provide an admin account for a trusted person to verify this behavior.

pewh ... nearly fainted, 10 new messages over night ;)
@guyforget: Hmm, that's strange - I run my gallery nearly 95% of the time in admin mode - I more often forget to check things out for the guest viewers ... and didn't encounter this issue yet.

hi LFrank,
I think you have some broken links in your theme (they r included from other js file(s)):
/themes/PGlightbox/images/lb/js/builder.js
/themes/PGlightbox/images/lb/js/dragdrop.js
/themes/PGlightbox/images/lb/js/controls.js
/themes/PGlightbox/images/lb/js/slider.js
I just don't like 404s in my server log ;)
Nice work!
Thanks

Give it a try. I don't see why it was there to begin with. Perhaps deeper in the tree ( nested albums ) it might mean somthing.
And they click an image and lightbox pops up the image, does that count towards the image's viewcount? I cant tell, but it would be nice if it did.

@guyforget: no, seems it does not count to the image view count - no idea (yet) how that should be implemented.

It's very strange because they are present in the images folder. Is this a problem with javascript? Since these images are used in every photo/album page my error log is filled with these errors.
Thanks

It's just these two images, they seem to be called from both the Gallery directory and from album/photo directories. Not sure how that works. If you use Firefox and have the developers tools installed you can use 'find broken images' on any page and you will see these two images reported every time. Am I the only person to report this?

Hello Lutz,
Installed v 1.1.5 onto SVN v 2.2 core 1.1.18.
I wish I could report errors to help with debugging on v 1.1.5. but I can't. Every action and task I threw against your new release, works. Feel like I would be more useful if I could find something broken, but in the last two releases, everything has worked flawlessly.
One thing I am getting which I have not seen mentioned is a long cursor-like bar when clicking into the navigation (forward and backward) in a sized image. Will attempot to screen capture one to show. This is the only thing so far that I can report. Otherwise, everything works.
As an FYI, I was working with custom fields to see how I could manage at least something inside PGtheme, but from everything I have done in the past, custom fields do not display at all as I think we all know from the past builds. Big sigh.... I won't re-launch into the prior posts where I waxed on. But just being able to display custom fields, not to mention flying them in, would be bigger than big. If would be really big. I know I know, am repeating myself... Anything I can do to help this process, within my skills and abilities, I am here.
Have dialed into the gallery irc for the last few days to get a feel for the group and dialogue, and will shortly be able to offer help in documentation.

@ichtyous: have that tool - but dindn't know that functionality yet :/
These are exactly those I had to localize from the Java-Slideshow distro ... and he's looking in the colorpack dir, great. Have to clean up a bit I assume
Thanks!

EDIT: attached an updated lightbox.js which will find loading and closelabel at the proper location (you will have to edit your site path on top of the file),
//

//
var galleryRoot = "http://localmail.dynip.com/GALLERY2/"
var fileLoadingImage = galleryRoot + "themes/PGlightbox/images/loading.gif";
var fileBottomNavCloseImage = galleryRoot + "themes/PGlightbox/images/closelabel.gif";
the other things are fixed too, but will have to be put into the ZIP (a few files to be moved into the proper places in the colorpacks folder)

Lutz,
I tried the new lightbox.js and changed the root directory...I am still getting all kinds of broken image errors. These are the errors for the first page of the 'architecture' album:
I also cleared my template cache to see if that had any effect but the errors are still there...I have a multisite install BTW, not sure if that makes any difference
Updated to 1.1.5-B including the latest theme admin gimmick (screenshot - only in last Nightly or SVN)
and some 'missing links' fixed. My Firefox does not report any more 'missings'.

Thanks Dave,
Permissions were the first thing I checked. The permissions are the same for images which work and the ones which are forbidden (777)...can there be any other reason why some get a 403 error and others no?

Have just struck what may be a bug... no idea how to handle it. Any assistance would be appreciated. I currently can't access my Gallery!
Was uploading some images, had done 8, was doing another 4 when this popped up:

Not what I wanted to hear...
Right at this moment, what I have shown you here is the ONLY page Gallery will allow me. Can I hack one of the php files to change the theme? Which theme should I go for?
Maybe I need to do a full reinstall...

Not hack but you can try to access admin pages directly. Try to add /main.php?g2_view=core.SiteAdmin at your Gallery Path, can you get at least there.

Hi Lutz,
I was wondering...is there a way to add a site id just to photo pages and not albums? For instance, I want to add something like "Photo: " before each page title in the browser, but not for album pages. I played with the following code in photo.tpl, but it didn't make any difference in the browser page title:
title = {/literal}"{$theme.params.site}-{$theme.item.title}"{literal};
titleparent = {/literal}"{$theme.parent.title}"{literal};
titleitem = {/literal}"{$theme.item.title}"{literal};
Do you know how to do this? Thanks!

Lutz -
Could you tell me how I can completely disable the header image?

Nevermind, had a permissions problem.

guyforget: just had a look at your site - nice btw. - I saw you've put an 'updates' album directly into the root. Good idea, but I didn't check here for not 'real' albums - that causes yous spinning ... I will fix that.

EDIT: guyforget: can you try the attached album.tpl for your 'Updates'-album issue

Ok, new problem. And I dont exactly know what handles this, and if its because of the theme, or gallery itself, or maybe by some long shot my url_rewrite setup which Ive already wrestled with this afternoon trying to fix this problem.
Check out my site: http://gallery.guyforget.week4paug.net
Then enter an album: http://gallery.guyforget.week4paug.net/prints
Then use the drop-down in the sidebar to choose a completely different album. It just tacks on the folder name of the album you want to the url of the album youre viewing, resulting in file not found. Click your <<Back button and use the DHTML links to choose a completely different album. Same thing.
Weird?

works for me. don't see any problem on your website.
Posts: 39
Seriously?
Ok - it works from the directly linked sub-album. Start at the root and click into any other album except for the updates album. From there, try to use the DHTML or Drop Down in the sidebar.
If that works for you, then I must be crazy.

Your site works great for me.

The PGlightbox issue on both Firefox & IE6 has something to do with Gallery running embedded in WordPress and probably URL Rewrite. Going directly to Gallery2 (bypassing WordPress) and all works fine on both Firefox & IE6.
Posts: 39
Posts: 27300
I just tried your steps and don't see that behavior. I have never seen a 404 on your site.
I do see
?g2_enterAlbum=1
on all the image links from the first page.eg: if I go from your main page ( http://gallery.guyforget.week4paug.net/main.php ) and click the travel album I get this link:
http://gallery.guyforget.week4paug.net/travel/?g2_enterAlbum=1

Y'all are right. I checked it from a friend's, and it worked fine for them.
So I came home and selected to view the gallery as a guest. And it worked. So it seems like it may have something to do with being logged in as admin...? How could it just be my browser? Ive cleared my cache 100 times since this morning...
Posts: 39
OK - I think that I have verified that this has to do with being logged in as an admin.
I used another computer to browse as a guest and everything worked fine. I logged in as a user and everything worked fine. I logged in as myself [admin mode] and the bad linkage happened again. Logged out and it was right back to normal.
I could provide an admin account for a trusted person to verify this behavior.
Posts: 1023
pewh ... nearly fainted, 10 new messages over night ;)
@guyforget: Hmm, that's strange - I run my gallery nearly 95% of the time in admin mode - I more often forget to check things out for the guest viewers ... and didn't encounter this issue yet.

hi LFrank,
I think you have some broken links in your theme (they r included from other js file(s)):
/themes/PGlightbox/images/lb/js/builder.js
/themes/PGlightbox/images/lb/js/dragdrop.js
/themes/PGlightbox/images/lb/js/controls.js
/themes/PGlightbox/images/lb/js/slider.js
I just don't like 404s in my server log ;)
Nice work!

Give it a try. I don't see why it was there to begin with. Perhaps deeper in the tree ( nested albums ) it might mean somthing.

Also, LFrank; when a user is in an album: http://gallery.guyforget.week4paug.net/prints/emek/
And they click an image and lightbox pops up the image, does that count towards the image's viewcount? I cant tell, but it would be nice if it did.

Hi Lutz,
I keep getting errors in my error logs for the following images:
/gallery2/themes/PGlightbox/images/lb/images/blank.gif
/gallery2/themes/PGlightbox/images/lb/images/blank.gif
/gallery2/themes/PGlightbox/images/lb/images/loading.gif
/gallery2/themes/PGlightbox/images/close.gif
It's very strange because they are present in the images folder. Is this a problem with javascript? Since these images are used in every photo/album page my error log is filled with these errors.
Thanks
Andrew

Lutz,
I find the errors coming from every page:
/photos/new-york/skylines/images/loading.gif
/photos/new-york/skylines/images/closelabel.gif

EDIT: attached an updated lightbox.js which will find loading and closelabel at the proper location (you will have to edit your site path on top of the file),
the other things are fixed too, but will have to be put into the ZIP (a few files to be moved into the proper places in the colorpacks folder)

Lutz,
I tried the new lightbox.js and changed the root directory...I am still getting all kinds of broken image errors. These are the errors for the first page of the 'architecture' album:
1. http://andrewprokos.com/js/awstats_misc_tracker.js?screen=1024x768&win=997x519&cdi=32&java=true&shk=n&fla=y&rp=n&mov=y&wma=y&pdf=y&uid=awsuser_id1157484402530r764&sid=awssession_id1161348710450r5796

4. http://andrewprokos.com/gallery2/themes/PGlightbox/images/lb/images/blank.gif

7. http://andrewprokos.com/gallery2/themes/PGlightbox/images/close.gif
8. http://andrewprokos.com/photos/architecture/images/closelabel.gif
I also cleared my template cache to see if that had any effect but the errors are still there...I have a multisite install BTW, not sure if that makes any difference

If i go to:
http://andrewprokos.com/gallery2/themes/PGlightbox/images/lb/images/blank.gif
I get a 403 (FORBIDDEN). So that is why that does not work.

I played with the following code in photo.tpl, but it didn't make any difference in the browser page title:
title = {/literal}"{$theme.params.site}-{$theme.item.title}"{literal};
titleparent = {/literal}"{$theme.parent.title}"{literal};
titleitem = {/literal}"{$theme.item.title}"{literal};
Do you know how to do this? Thanks!
