Sorry for the late reply. Was off for a week.

The gallery version is 2.2.2 core 1.2.0.4, and greypop 1.3.1

Thanks a lot.

Have you changed anything in the theme code that is close to the sidebar? Also what module are you using for that picture? On my site I turned on imageblock and it worked fine. Sadly I'm not sure what would cause this.

Hi,
firt of all, I'm sorry for my english... :) I'm Italian.
I have a problem with watermarks:
in lightbox view the watermarks are not showed...
I applied watermark only on original images and I don't use resized images.

In the "standard" photo page all is ok.

I must change something in albumlight.tpl?

Are you sure your not using resized images. Lightbox uses them if they are the right size. Can you give me a link (even if it's all Italian) so I can look at what it's doing?

I configured this album (only this one!) http://www.volleymaniaweb.it/gallery2/main.php?g2_itemId=4710 whitout resized images. The watermark is applied to original images.
If you click an image, in lightbox the watermark is not visible. If you click "View foto page" the watermark
appears!

In other albums I use resized images and the watermark is visible in lightbox.

Is there a reason you don't want the resized image to have the watermark too? For some reason lightbox is picking up that there is a resize, but that resize is the same size as the original.

Idon't use resized images. I tried to generate resized image with same size of original images and apply watermark. Lightbox shows no watermark.
Maybe the reason is that original images aren't modified.

Hello,

Is there a way to use the link item plugin with the lightbox? When I click on the links the lightbox comes up and just does an endless loading loop. Ideally I would like to use both.

Thanks

Sorry to take so long to get back to you, but I was in Cancun shooting some fabulous models. Unfortainatly I'm not familiar with what the link item does, but if you can tell me I can let you know.

Hello,

It's good to hear you get out and enjoy life instead of just answering questions here!

Link Item is one of the Gallery Plug-ins that uses a default graphic of a chain (links) and when you click it you are taken to the website you specified when you added the link.

So instead of clicking a thumbnail and seeing a picture it opens another website.

Thanks

Yeah you can do both. You just need to edit albumlight.tpl and before and after.tpl of the lightbox module to add in some if then statements so lightbox doesn't try to load when you are clicking on a link. I can do this but can't get to it for about a week or so. I have to process 20GB of images for the models I shot in Cancun.

Hey,

I'm glad to hear this can work, but I know making the changes is outside my skill set with gallery right now. I don't mind waiting a few weeks so whenever you get the time to make the changes is fine. Thanks for the help and happy processing!

I keep seeing people mention editing the before and after.tpl files but none of my edits show up. I just did a test run by altering the "View Photo Page" to something else, but that change doesn't show up anywhere. I've dug through files and I have yet to find other files have that in them. The only before and after.tpl files that I have (after installing theme in gallery) is located in modules\lightbox\templates\blocks

OK here's how it works. theme.tpl gets loaded and sees that you have lightbox enabled and you are viewing an album it then loads albumlight.tpl. In albumlight.tpl it might load before.tpl if you are on page 2 or later, then it loads the current display of images into lightbox then if there are more images on next pages it loads after.tpl. So if you want to change something in lightbox you need to edit albumlight.tpl, before.tpl, and after.tpl. Note that before and after.tpl are in the modules folders.

Alright. Where do I need to place the new "local" directory so that I can place the edited versions there?

albumlight.tpl is in themes\greypop\templates
and before & after are in modules\lightbox\templates\blocks

Do I just make a new folder named "local" inside those folders?
(ie: themes\greypop\templates\local)

Yes that will work for the tpl files in the greypop folder. I'm not so sure about the modules though. You can try it and see. Also sometimes you must clear G2's cache to see your changes. You do that in Site Admin under Maintenance.

I just upgraded from gallery from 2.0.3 to the latest version and then upgraded your theme. Everything works just like it did, except the micro nav buttons. I have attached a screen shot of the "next" button way out to the side of the image. The "prev" button appears directly above the next button. Is there something I did wrong or need to set? BTW, we love your theme and the lightbox feature is way cool. Yes, we are behind the times but better late than never. Thanks for your hard work on this theme,

You know I think that's a bug. Try using an imageframe. Even if the imageframe is the same color as the background.

Hello,

lvthunder I know life can be busy and such, but have you had a moment to modify the files I need to modify or type up the change so I can make it to get your template working with the link plugin?

Thanks

Hi there,

I'm new to Gallery...I reckon it's bloody brilliant!

I have your theme on my website, thanks for sharing this great theme!

I see you used drupal for your site...I never knew about drupal until today, and I'm trying it now and really liking it!

Did you use a theme downloaded from the drupal site, or create your own, as it's exactly what I'm looking for to use on my personal website.

Thanks!

I created my own drupal theme. I never released it though because I barely have enough time to support the G2 theme.

Modified lightbox with slideshow (auto-advance) for greypop

I took the enhanced lightbox code written by Justin Barkhuff,
(http://www.justinbarkhuff.com/lab/lightbox_slideshow/) and made
the necessary changes to it so it would work in the greypop theme. I think its a better slideshow than other options I've seen.

See it in action here. (mine is customized a bit).

Attached below are the files needed. Drop them into you modules\lightbox folder
replacing the existing files that came with the greypop theme.

There are some customization options available and it would be nice to incorporate the options
into the lightbox admin config page but I haven't attempted to do that yet. For now you can
set the options in the lightbox.js file in modules/lightbox. The options from Justin Barkhuff's website are:

animate : resize animations; defaults to true
autoPlay : should slideshow start automatically; defaults to false
borderSize : if you adjust the padding in the CSS, you will need to update this variable; defaults to 10
containerID : lightbox container object; defaults to document
enableSlideshow : enable auto-playing slideshow feature; defaults to true
googleAnalytics : track individual image views using Google Analytics (requires Google Analytics code to be installed); defaults to false
imageDataLocation : specifies the location of the caption information (north or south of the image); defaults to south
initImage : ID of image link to automatically launch when upon script initialization; defaults to an empty string
loop : whether to continuously loop slideshow images; defaults to true
overlayDuration : time to fade in shadow overlay; defaults to .2
overlayOpacity : transparency of shadow overlay, can be any value between (and including) 0 and 1; defaults to .8
prefix : ID prefix for all dynamically created html elements; if you change this, you must also update the CSS selectors in lightbox.css; defaults to an empty string
relAttribute : string that specifies the rel attribute value that triggers lightbox; defaults to 'lightbox'
resizeSpeed : controls the speed of the image resizing (1=slowest and 10=fastest); defaults to 7
showGroupName : show group name of images in image details; defaults to false
slideTime : time (in seconds) to display images during slideshow; defaults to 4
strings : object that allows for localization; when customizing this, all string object properties must be defined; defaults to:
{ closeLink : 'close', loadingMsg : 'loading', nextLink : 'next »', prevLink : '« prev', startSlideshow : 'start slideshow',stopSlideshow : 'stop slideshow',numDisplayPrefix : 'Image',numDisplaySeparator : 'of' }

For more on the above options, check http://www.justinbarkhuff.com/lab/lightbox_slideshow/ . The only thing I changed is autoplay to default to false so that user has to click "Start Slideshow" for it to auto-advance.

Enjoy and thanks to lvthunder for the great theme and Justin Barkhuff for the lightbox mod.

Hi,
I would like to use the navigation menu items to provide more information about my album photos.
There will be a link called: "INFO" above the breadcrump navigation.
Unfortunatly I found it very difficult to style the link item.
In the greypop theme.css I found the 'gsMenu div.gbSystemLinks span' where I can add a border or a background to the link, put I can't figure out how to just simply change the font color.

Another problem is, that the link opens in the same window, how to I have to change the theme, that the link will open in a seperate window or opens with a java script like highslide ?

Hope somebody knows an answer
Regards Peter

I would use Firefox with an extension called Firebug to find the css you need to change to change the menu color. It's real handy that way. As for the menu when you type in the links try this www.xxx.com/path" target="_blank and see if that works or if you just want to change that part of the code it's line 56 in theme.tpl.

Thanks for the fast ultra answer.
I just installed firebug. Very helpful :-)

Typing www.xxx.com/path target="_blank" is unfortunatly not working.

Line 56+57 in theme.tpl is:
<span class="block-core-SystemLink">
<a href="{$theme.navLinks[menu]}">{$theme.navItems[menu]}</a>

I changed it into:
<a href="{$theme.navLinks[menu]}" target ="_blank">{$theme.navItems[menu]}</a>

Works great.
Thanks Peter

HI,

This is a great theme, but I am having some difficulties with the image popup. It doesn't seem to work. Am I doing something wrong? or do I need to configure something.

Link of gallery site: http://spclubs.com/gallery/main.php

Your help is greatly appreciated.

You must activate the lightbox module and turn lightbox on in the theme options.

Hello, I'm having trouble finding the lightbox module... it would be in plugins, right? I've read that it's included in greypop, but I'm just not seeing it in order to activate it. Is it true that an image has to be a certain size for lightbox to work?

Also, is there a way to enter text in the header or does the header image need to be modified for that?

Thanks so much!

Lightbox is included with the theme. It should be in the modules folder. You would need to enable it from the plugins page. It uses the title of the images in ligtbox. There shouldn't be a problem with image sizes. What size images are you planning on using.

Thanks-- I had uploaded the theme, but not the modules. Oops... My photos are 6X8s (I think the longest side is 573px or something) and the light box is working fine!

I like how your header looks on your gallery site-- is there a spot where you can type in a title so it'll appear in the header? I just replaced it with a modified image file, but I'm not sure I like the font I used.

Thanks again!

Thanks for your help--- I have my site working fine on Mozilla Firefox, but just noticed that it's not so great on IE. The "shadow" frame around the albums and photos looks off, and lightbox doesn't work. I checked your demo site on IE and it looks and works fine. Any suggestions?

I really appreciate it!

Thanks for checking, I appreciate it. The lightbox works in IE6 if I wait long enough. The weird thing is the light-colored box that shows up around the "shadow" frame. Is that showing up in IE7? What's weirder is that the shadow looks fine on your site w/ IE6, but not on mine. Any idea why that might be?

Never mind! I changed it to the "grey pop" frame, and now it's fine. Thanks so much for all your help, and for creating such a wonderful theme-- it's by far the best I've seen!

Im using greypop/gallery within an iframe on my page. Any chance someone knows how to get Lightbox to display in the entire parent window, rather than just in the iframe... I have also heard that "Lytebox" has this ability built in, any chance of integrating "Lytebox" into the greypop theme?

Cheers,

Jesse

I have updated the theme to version 1.3.3. This version changed lightbox so it can work alongside of jquery. For some reason I can no longer edit the first post in this thread. You can find it here.

First of all, thanks for the theme. It's beautiful. I have one question though.

In the slideshow there's a link to view in 3D (Cooliris). Where can I get rid of that?

Thanks!

As far as I know that's part of the slideshow module. Look at the templates in that module.

I've got a little problem. I've installed and applied Greypop to Gallery, and under the Site Admin page, everything looks fine...however, when I go to the actual album, the theme has not been applied to anything.
I've saved the "Default theme" as greypop...but nothing happens...

Any help would be appreciated.

Ok, so I've got the theme working now...but on the main page, It says:

Quote:
Gallery
This is the main page of your Gallery

I've searched all over to find out how to change this string, but I can't find it in any of the files. Any idea of where it is?

Here's my gallery so far:
http://www.sorcerers2.net/kitrax/gallery

I've got Cooliris installed, so whenever I click the "Slideshow" link, it automatically opens in Cooliris...but some of my friends have mentioned that the slideshow isn't working for them... Do users *have* to have the Cooliris browser add-on installed to view it correctly?

On the main page click edit album at the bottom you should be a drop down box. Pick Edit Album. It's in there. As for the Cooliris for some reason when I looked at the the first gallery messed up, but the People album worked fine.
