The first version of Gallery was released over ten years ago. It didn't take long for the Project's popularity to grow after Bharat added it to SourceForge and launched Contributors have always referred to the effort as the "Gallery Project." Those outside the Project often call it "Menalto Gallery" which sound like it's developed by a company rather than a group of open source developers. For those outside of Silicon Valley, Menalto is the name of the street that divides Menlo Park and Palo alto, which is where Bharat was living when he started the project.
