Automatic addition of images

Hello all,
is there a way to add images to a directory and have G2 automatically add them to its collection ? Somewhat similar to the 'update from server', but without having to do the manual intervention to add them. I'd like to have a script regularly add images in a bunch of directories and have G2 publish them in corresponding albums.

Is this possible ?

nivekiam, does this actually work or is this still in early development ?
As for Adobe AIR, I have very little interest in something more complicated than learning Flash, JavaScript, Php, PDF and whatnot all melted into the same pot. I don't mind a bit of shell or php scripting for that, but AIR seems way overkill.
