Is there a way to allow PDF files to be either viewed (with a thumbnail) or downloadable?

I changed the settings to allow the pdf (in form_uploadify.html.php) and it was able to upload but nothing appeared.

Sure, use G2 or write a module to deal with PDF files to generate a JPG thumb and deal with the PDF file. G3 knows nothing about how to deal with PDF files.

Thanks for your non helpful comment.

If I knew how to write code I probably would not have asked such a stupid question.

For what its worth I cut & past it in paint, and change to a jpeg file, sure would be a nice feature for Gallery3 though.

@daveman, sorry we have no plans to support PDF in the near term. We're trying to stay on target as a photo gallery.
