Upgrading Gallery to latest version steps and process?

Based on my signature, it seems like that is the latest version I have installed in my gallery.

Unfortunately, I haven't touched my gallery for probably over a year and want to use it again which is currently active. However, I can't remember how to confirm whether this is the latest version. How do I go about confirming my version so I can proceed upgrading to the latest gallery version?

PHP version = 4.4.4 cgi

Your signature is wrong and after you upgrade you can change it.
Admin -> maintenance -> System information : run now.

Latest stable release: 2.3.1
