Album password protection like in G2

Hi Gallery Team,

once thank you for the excellent work in the last years.
I have a Gallery with over 15.000 Pictures and G3 works very well. G2 works since 2003 very good, but over the years the gallery made problems.

I have all pics migrated by the G2 import modul to G3. But I haven't start G3 for my users, because a lot of them have a password protection on their albums.

We like to have both, open albums and password protected albums. In G3 password protection is not included.

So actually I have two ways:
a) I create user-groups, all visitors for a protected album must register and I must attach them to the groups. This would be a uncomfortably way, because there can be 1 or 400 Users and perhaps I have to attach them not only in one but also in several groups.

b) I ban all unregistered users, create for an open album a group with one pseudo user incl. a password and announce this information.

But in both variants I must create groups. And so the group concept is very very comprehensive and confusing.

So I wish that the password protection comes back, or a programmer writes a modul for this feature or the group concept becomes a new and separate function so I can directly add the groups in the user profile.
