[userinfo/carbon] logout action leaves blank screen with USERINFO + GALLERY plugins

Gallery version: 2.3
Module / Theme name & version: userinfo module 1.0.4/carbon theme 1.2.6

When the Gallery2 module is enabled andwhen the module userinfo is enabled, logging off takes you to a blank screen www.domain.com/logoff (nothing but white space) Hitting refresh shows error:

Access denied
You are not authorized to access this page.

Research has shown that the suggestion to resolve this is to remove the userinfo module. In the absence of any other tracking tools I can find (well I am currently strugglingn with the Firestats module too, but that is another story.)

Otherwise I have a flawlessly performing full featured Galler2 website. I just want to get some user info from somewhere. Thanks!
