I just purchased a virtual server from godaddy to use for myself. They want to charge extra for the control panel software (PLESK), and wanted to know if anyone has suggestions on free software that's available that would do just as good a job, is easy to set up and use (I'm a novice trying to learn), and compatible with their virtual server. I purchased the Linux version running CentOS 5. Let me know if there's any other info you need. Appreciate your help!
Thanks!

I have a virtual server at Linode (www.linode.com) and from the forums over there, I've seen ISPConfig suggested. I think there's another one, but the name is escaping me right now.
If you're looking for good tutorials on getting up and running, both www.linode.com and www.slicehost.com have great tutorials. While some tutorials have some definite provider specific information, most of it would apply to any <insert distro name here> install. So if you find a good Centos specific tutorial it will most likely work any place you'd have that version of Centos installed.

Thanks for the help. I accessed all of the links you offered, and read up on it. This might be more involved than I was hoping for, but I'll give it a try and see what happens.

And I would most likely use PLESK if they didn't want to charge me extra to use it. Just a matter of economics. Thx!
