Tags not being applied when uploading

I'm successfully uploading images with the web interface but tags are not being applied to any of the images. Is this a known bug or something else?

Is there any other way to add tags to multiple images at the same time?

do you mean the tags that you write in during the "Add Photos" dialog? If so, then I think those tags are actually applied to the gallery. I seem to remember thinking the same, and then I noticed the gallery was getting the tags... might be completely off base though...

Yeah, that's what I mean. The dialog box actually includes the words, "Add tags to all uploaded files" which is pretty clear as to the intent.

I'm not seeing the tags entered here being applied to either the album or the images uploaded.

Yes the UI needs improvement. You have to enter the tags before you hit the upload button.

Hello floridave,

umm, sorry but I don't understand what exactly you mean by "enter the tags before you hit the upload button". May you make it clear please? Do you mean I have to "create" tags I want to assume to picture "before" uploading proces? I tried it but not successfully (the tag name appears in a dropbox menu, but doesn't add to the uploaded picture). The same with new tags... Please explain me what you mean.

I think what floridave meant was the following process:

1) Click "Add Photos" button in the album menu - this pops up the upload photo dialog
2) You choose photos to upload using the file prompt
3) You enter the tags you want to add in the appropriate text bocx
4) ONLY THEN do you click the "Upload" button
5) Tags should correctly get added to each photo

I believe that steps 2) and 3) could be interchanged, but they HAVE to come before 4).

I do not see anything strange on your process, I think it's normal procedure and I did it in the same way. Maybe it's only misunderstanding - I cannot see "Upload" button, only "Done" one. I presume we're talking about the same button, right? :)

But nevermind, if this bug has ticket, it will be debugged :)

New questions appear to me in this discussion.
Is there any function to tag multiple photos just uploaded to the server (for example through server add way) as erwindink asked? I can find nothing similar, but I'm very new to this gallery and maybe I didn't notice it. If there is not this feature, will it be? :)
And the last one question (maybe another bug?) touching the tags - in an "Edit this photo" dialog there is command line to assign multiple tags to the picture. But in my browsers (chrome, firefox) an autocomplete dialog doesn't appear when I begin to write some existing tag name. (in Add photo dialog it works). Bug? Missing feature? Or an intention? :)

And now stop with bugs and missing features - you guys do really good work on this project, my compliment to you all! Thank you!

Sorry, I was going from memory. You are in fact right about the missing "Upload" button. Now that I actually tested the darned thing. Here is the PROPER sequence:

1) Click "Add Photos" button in the album menu - this pops up the upload photo dialog
2) FIRST enter the tags you want to add in the text box at the bottom.
3) You choose photos to upload using the file prompt (button: "Select Photos"). Upload starts as soon as you select the photos, so tags must be put in first!
4) Click the done button
5) Browse to photo: tags should correctly get added to each photo
