Email notification

I have this gallery with multiple users, each with their own (private) albums under their root album.
When I set under Notifications, that an email is sent whenever an item is added, who gets that email?
Is it the user that uploads the photos or me, as the admin?
Is there a way I can get notified when a user uploads photos?

Who ever has clicked on the "Watch" icon and then clicked Save on the next page for that album or item.
