Is there any add-on, component, plugin, that allows someone to upload an image into an album, manipulate it for color, tone, add text, apply it to an object like a calendar or mug, and then pass it on to a checkout engine?
Broken record on my part... but I wish I had the skills to write this kind of code. There are three or four 'ideas' that are grand as ideas, but I know the Gallery team would like folks to put their money where their mouth is... and produce stuff.
I can say that in addition to what the Gallery team has produced over the years which is incredibly bang-up, from G1 thru G3, but folks like alecmeyers and the commerce applications he has created are huge pieces of work. The kind that if they gave out medals, he should get at least four or twelve... imo.

To give credit where it's due, I didn't write the original checkout modules; I did re-engineer, recode and extend them, but others must get the credit for doing the initial work.

Yes sir. You are correct. One of the previous authors of the checkout mods came to the States to try and work on advancing some of the checkout mods, but there were too many distractions and we weren't successful in that. But yes, credit is due as you say.
Still, your work in advancing the checkout mods has been yeoman's work, imo.

There *Was* a summer of code student that never finished a similar project. Somebody could finish it if they have the need for it.
