hi everyone.
it might seem silly but though I love the classic theme, I have to make some changes in the layout. so besides the css I'll need to customize the home.htm or whatever it is, but cant locate the file.
can anyone help please???????
If you need more help post most about what you want to do.

dear nivekiam.
thank u for taking care.
due to what I've read besides the css customization, I can make changes to theme.tpl to modify my layout.
I need to add a full-width div to the top of the albums in my homepage. Its made up by the classic theme.
other themes like xtreme-new provide the possibility through the admin cpanel. but it seems there's no way for me to avoid changing my theme.tpl in the classic mode.
but the first tag added, makes the whole page loose its style.
is there any problem with adding a <div> tag to theme.tpl?

There shouldn't be so long as you close it.

There is no "home.htm" or anything like that. All the template stuff for G2 is under /themes/YourTheme/templates
See this page about editing templates:
