Add Items / From Local Server / Was Working / Now Missing!

Have been using Gallery 2 successfully for several weeks. Yesterday, after a week away, went to add some additional photos using the From Local Server tab on Add Items, but that tab (which I have used several times before) is now missing. Went to Site Admin and removed and reinstalled the Add Items plugin, then maintenance rebuild templates, but no joy. Still no tab! Only option to add new photos is one by one via the web browser, which doesn't float my boat.
