Has anyone integrated Lightbox into 2.3?

I'm curious if anyone has gotten Lightbox to work with v2.3, specifically the Matrix theme. The instructions in the codex are outdated since the new album.tpl file is different than the one discussed there. I kept getting error messages when I try.

It doesn't seem like it should be such a problem...in fact, it seems like it should be either included as an option or a module plugin.
