I just went to copy all my g2data onto my local drive and noticed that several of my photos are missing. An example, in one gallery I have 48 images but only 29 show up even on the server under g2data >albums. Like wise another album has 68 images and only 3 show up. Is there a way to rebuild g2data? Thanks

First, make sure you followed this EXACTLY:
FAQ: How can I move my gallery installation from one server to another?

To rebuild images you can go to Site Admin > Maintenance and rebuild your thumbs and resizes.

Hi Kevin,
Sorry about the cross post. I wasn't sure if I put the original in the right place.
I've done the maintenance rebuild several times but still get the same results. I have one album that has 56 photos in it but when I look in g2data folder on my server it only shows 3 of them. I have another with 48 images and only 29 show. I haven't checked the other albums including sub albums but I know I can't seem to get the first 2 albums right. Any clues would be greatly appreciated.

Browsing your Gallery, everything appears fine.

So it appears your derivatives (resizes and thumbs) are in place and fine. Do you get error messages when rebuilding the thumbs and resizes?

Have you checked that the missing images are on the server? Are they there, but you happen to be using symlinks?

Hi Kevin,
The missing images aren't on the server. That's what I don't understand. I'm not using symlinks. I don't even know what they are. All images get uploaded to the server/ gallery the same way. I use the upload applet. Short of pulling all the photos from my master files and putting them on the server in the proper albums and sub albums (potentially a monumental task) I thought once they went into the Gallery program they automatically went into g2data. I'm trying to prepare for my eventual migration to Gallery 3 and most definitely on a different server since mine is stuck using Apache1.
Thanks for any further help,
Lloyd in NYC

Sorry I left that out. No error messages and everything rebuilds.

Then I can only think that the images are where Gallery thinks they are. Running blind all I can suggest is to dig deeper :)

You can try putting gallery into debug mode while doing the rebuild and see where Gallery thinks they are:
FAQ: How to set/use Gallery in debug mode?

I can try poking around if you PM me SSH (preferably) or FTP login details as well as login details for your G2 install. Otherwise if you're not getting error messages or missing/broken images I can't think there is anything wrong with your Gallery install.
