I reload my Linux Debian /root image to one that was saved 2 weeks ago (due to some system problem). Now I can only see photos that were loaded up to that time. I looked into g2data directory (which is in /home directory), and all the albums and photos are still there. How can I reload these into G2?

I have looked at faq, etc, and searched, but did not find anything (I have to admit I am not a good searcher using proper keywords).

Thanks for any help.

Delete those from your g2data/albums directory and re-upload them is the only way.

Thanks for quick reply. I am pretty newbie to sql, apache2, G2. Please give me more details:

Delete - I guess you mean to delete all photos and album from g2data directory.

Reload - Do you mean copying the photos to some other file, and then copy them back to g2data/album?

Or do you mean to delete all photos and albums (using the G2 remove album) and then recreate everything from scratch? I have about 300 photos in 4 albums, and they are still intact in g2data/album.

Sorry for these stupid questions.

I found some instructions on how to save my albums and photos, but lost all the descriptions. So not bad for this mistake. Via this mistake, I learned how to re-install and back-up and restore. So, I'll backup often from now on.

Here is the instruction in case someone falls into the same mistake:

Recovering Gallery 2 from the storage directory only:
