Using Gallery Remote to upload other files

Greetings

I work for a digital print company based near Cambridge in the UK. Our studio manager has asked me to investigate using a small desktop app to allow clients to upload files to our web server. I immediately thought of Gallery Remote. I wonder if this is possible?

File types would be anything from PDF, Quark, Tif's EPS files etc so would be a wider range of files than current app allows.

I'd be interested to hear your thoughts on this.

Thanks

Nick

Hi Nick,

Sure we could allow a greater range of file types, without a preview most likely.

But would you be uploading to a Gallery? If not, Gallery Remote will be no use to you in its present state. You're still welcome to use any of the source of course, provided whatever modification you build is also GPL'ed.

Hey, thanks for the prompt reply!

Unfortunately I am no programer! What would be involved in making
GR link to an FTP sever (would be the same location for all dist
versions but it would be good to be able to change the server address as required).

Would this be difficult?

Thanks

Nick

Everything is possible, but Gallery Remote is not what you want. What you need is an FTP client... I'm sure you can find an Open-source FTP client that can be branded/hardcoded to your company's liking.
