I have just upgraded my site to g2.3 and after a few problems now everything apparently is working, except for the mod_rewrite which is not working anymore.
When I try to configure it I get "For whatever reason, Gallery did not detect a working mod_rewrite setup..."
Obviously I edited the two .htaccess files as instructed, then I tried deleting the plugin altogether and reinstalled it and I tried forcing one configuration but it still does not work (I simply don't get short URLs, although everything else works).
I read lots of threads here dealing with the same problem, but didn't find any solution (someone mentioned to set AllowOverride FileInfo Options in the Apache config file, which I don't have access to, but this should not be the problem since the site used to work before, so apache should be properly configured, right?)
Any ideas? What can I try to do?
