I am moving from one webhost to another. I have a large Gallery album on the old host and want to transfer it to the new host. I think I need to install fresh on the new host. This is fine. The question is the album contents. I have backed up all album images, simply by going to the gallery image vault. Is there a way to save album captions? Am I missing something obvious, like exporting an entire album for import into another Gallery installation? Or anything else?

Thanks in advance.

Thanks much. Unfortunately that solution was not a viable option. Why?

The old installation was a mess. The webhost switched servers and configuration and in the process made a hash of three websites. After a few troubletickets and telephone calls, enough was corrected that existing albums presented OK. Functionality was not restored. New photos could not be added, thumbnails would not generate, and a variety of other minor issues made themselves evident. Not worth correcting the installation. I'd been planning to do so anyhow, so migrated to a new webhost, one that among other things supports Gallery.

FWIW. I salvaged what I needed. PHPmyAdmin. Database export to CSV/Excel. Extracting from file rather easily a spreadsheet of filenames, captions, and descriptions. However tedious the process, no data lost.

Glad you got it all going the tedious way anyway.

Impeccable timing, your suggestion! I added the first album (the smaller one by far) to the new installation manually. I'll use the module for the second. Thanks much indeed.
