Firstly I understand that Checkout is a third party module. If this is not correct my apologies.
I have problems to change any settings within the Checkout configuration.
It used to work OK. I have added 10 products & it worked OK.
Now the only way I can make it work ie to save settings is via deselecting the 4 blank visible products & applies to other items boxes that appear after the 10 products.
I am aware you have tested 0.4.2 with Gallery 2.3
Is v 0.4.3 version of checkout stable or are there any known issues and fixes for this.
Also I ran the plugins to look for updates and I get the message
Failed to scan status from plugin: checkout.
I have unistalled the "cart" module as requested in your doco below

Important Note: Checkout and its associated modules are neither related to nor compatible with the "cart" module included with the core distribution. You should use one or the other system, but not both. If you wish to use checkout please uninstall cart.

Stable as a very very stable thing
No issues as far as I know, I've been using it myself for the last 9 months.
It sounds like you might be having this problem with your Apache/php installation:

EDIT: both people who had this problem were using cPanel, and one fixed it by not using cPanel any more. The other fixed it by changing hosts.
