Should I use Gallery2 or Gallery3 beta

I have use Gallery2 with the Ajaxian theme in the past and I like it. Now with Gallery3 in Beta, I am debating whether I should use Galley 3 or Gallery 2. Does Gallery 3 have the Ajaxian theme like in Gallery2? |

Here is the current list of themes for G3:

no code is compatible between G2 and G3.
G2 is still supported.

Ok, maybe I am missing something here, does this mean that if you have a G2.3 install that when G3 comes out, you have to do a new install of G3 and import all the content!?
And that you can't just do an 'upgrade' ?
Ouch.. ok so is there a 'time' when G3 will be out of beta and ready for the masses?
And how long will the G2 be supported?

Correct. Same as going from G1 to G2. These are 3 completely different software programs. They ultimately achieve mostly the same thing (your photos on your website) but are put together quite differently from each other.
Standard answer, "It's done when it's done". We're trying to get it out the door a quickly as we can, but the few programmer and few support people that there are all do this in their spare/free time, unpaid, etc, etc
And this is the holiday season right now...
Nothing has been written in stone, but G1 was supported for years (IMO waaaaaay frickin' longer than it should have
) after G2 was released because there were people willing to support it and who preferred it over G2.
Right now there is still a lot more functionality and theme options for G2 so it's going to be awhile before the scales tip to where the majority of people are using G3 instead of G2.
