selecting a language doesn't affect controls&navigation

Hi,
I'll begin with the technical stuff
-Gallery URL: link through here
-Gallery version: 1.4RC2
-Apache version: 1.3.27
-PHP version : 4.2.3
-Graphics Toolkit: ImageMagick
-Operating system: Debian 3.0 krnl ver 2.4.20
-Web browser/version (if applicable): IE6

It goes like this:
when selecting a language the only thing that changes is the encoding of the gallery name and album titles and if needed the direction of the text. Everything else (Navigation, Links, Counters etc.) stays in english.

Any help would be appreciated,

I've just installed gallery again. This time 1.4RC3. I've received the following error on the diagnostic page:

No, I don't think so. It works on my machine, which has no locales.

Jens, any ideas?

it seems that NO systemlocales are installed.
And our checks still dont fetch this :|

Ori: is this your system ?
And are you interested and have time to help us making gallery better when displayed rtl ?

Unfortunatly, the system is not mine. It belongs to my hosting service provider ([url]www.dreamhost.com[/url]).
BUT!
I'll be happy to help in any way with bidirectional/rtl/translations.

Hi Ori,

can you put it in configmode ?
Or install a second gallery, put this in configmode and tell me the url via PN or mail.

rtl: tell us what we can improve when gallery is displayed rtl.
i think mostly alignment.
