Different perspective on "galleries"

Hi. I've got Gallery up and running on my Clarkconnect box and I really like it. It comes closest (with the search function) to what I desire in a gallery. Let me explain:

I believe that the visitor to a gallery should see a gallery customized to their needs at that point in time. A gallery that opens with a series of keywords (with check boxes) would allow the visitor to select a customized show by selecting from; year, subject, people, etc. Much like google image search allows me to create a "show" based on a set of free form keywords. Ideally the keywords would be simply in exif rather than a separate db.

Has anybody done this for Gallery?
