Full size v full screen

Using gallery-gallery3-c9d2e222662746c1a8d1866dcd480f1440898735

When I view albums in root album I see thumbnail images 200px
When I open album I see resize image 600px.
When I select an image I don't see full size 900px, I see full screen representation - is this by design?

The full sized image is downloaded/displayed but the theme resizes the image to the available size that the browser has. This prevents scroll-bars for large images on smaller screens.

It would be up to the theme developer to change the behavior.
or
you could use the http://codex.gallery2.org/Gallery3:Modules:downloadfullsize module for the users to get the full sized image, if they have permissions.

I understand that if the browser area is smaller than the image area it would resize to prevent scroll bars, but my screen is larger and the image is upsized to fit the screen with a resulting reduction in quality!. Not desirable surely?

So your full sized images are smaller than your screen resolution? That is not the use case we designed G3 for.
The vast majority of people uploading items are uploading image larger than the average screen resolution.

Yes they are @ 900px
It's not a particularly big deal but it is rather annoying that images look crappy at full resolution.
I don't understand the logic of why you would want to make the image 'larger' than the original (smaller, yes to fit) but larger does not seem to make much sense to me.

Please file a bug report for this use. Having small fullsized images is rare but we should make it nicer.
