Question about batch organizing and editing filenames.

I've noticed that when I want to organize (re-order) my photos, it wants to update after each photo is moved. I'm wondering if there is a way for it to wait until I have finished ordering all of the photos until it updates. Having to update every time I drag/drop a single photo into position adds quite a bit of time to the process. Also, is there a way to batch edit the files? Think Facebook or flickr...after you upload the photos, it lists all of the photos and you can rename/tag all of the photos at once. Is this possible with G3? Cheers! |

There is a module for batch tagging the entire contents of an album:
http://codex.gallery2.org/Gallery3:Modules:batchtag
I'm not aware of any way to batch re-name everything though.

Yes, I have installed the batch tag module.
It's really the other things that I'm really wanting to do: batch edit/rename.
Right now I'm having to click though photos 1-by-1 to just change the titles/names. What a pain in the #*$!

The rearrange/organize/bulk edit portion of G3 is under heavy/active development. Stay tuned and keep up to date with the latest git version.

You could write the module as well, if you wanted, for the behavior you wanted. Perhaps your way will be better than the one in development? I am sure you will like to new one.
