Hi ALL Are there anyone out there with the competence and time to pick up where the originators left and continue the development of a world class plugin! Unfortunately I lack both the skills and time to do it myself (mostly the skills) Regards /patrick |

That's really sad.
How many people are using ths plugin?
I'd like to support further developement, but I'm afraid, that with Gallery3 there is a complete redesign of the Plugin needed. And I'm not sure if I'm capable to do this tecnically - and regularly. But with some team I would join.
E.g. Somone specialized in WP one for g3 and one for documentation. I would need somebody to push me ;)
Any Ideas welcome!

Yes, It's sad, and it's unfortunate, especially since there are more than a few issues with WP 2.8 and above!
I honestly don't know how many users there are out there, but since WP is one of the largest blogging engines, and Gallery 2 is (I guess) by far the most used gallery engine, I would guess on a few installations.
As for G3 I wouldn't count on a larger installation base for a while.
First of all, it's completely rewriting the history of Gallery as a product, and I would guess that completely new plugins have to be written - for everything!
Second; it's still in beta 1 and I would personally give it a year or so before I would do any dramatic changes at my sites.
In short my belief is that WPG2 is just WPG2 and has to be that for some time yet, while WPG3 would be a new exciting project.
Unfortunately, as I mentioned before, I haven't got the skills on either WP or G2 to do any coding myself.
I just raised the issue that the plugin is now orphaned, and would need new "parenting"

That is sad, I was just here looking for some technical assistance myself. OZGreg and the Captian (Kirk) have gone on a walkabout?
I have the time and some skill but I'd need someone to head the project. Any hand-holding takers willing to spend an email a day to help?
