Help! My frontpage albums keep re-arranging themselves :(

This only started happening a couple of days ago, I go to my Gallery site to see that the top album is NOT what it should be, but rather an album from almost 2 years ago....
I almost had a minor breakdown, for I've had SO many problems with my Galleries in the past and am now just slowly re-building this one... thankfully, I see that the album and photo count are still the same, so the albums ARE THERE. After browsing, I see that for some very odd reason, they've been scattered around the site in what seems to be a random order.
I have TWICE now meticulously re-arranged the albums in their correct order, only to find that next time I go to my Gallery, it's all jumbled up again IN THE SAME WAY AS BEFORE.

I am very puzzled by this, has anyone experienced issues like this before, and/or knows how to fix them?? :(

Problem 1) you're using Yahoo. No surprise you've had issues there.

2) You have a huge gallery. G1 doesn't handle lots of photos well. That would explain some of the speed issues. But if you're thinking of upgrading to G2 or even G3 on Yahoo, think again. I think people have gotten G2 to work, but yahoo doesn't allow .htaccess files on their so that eliminates the use of some cool features right off the bat. And in G3 you won't really be able to secure anything if you can't use .htaccess

For the sorting issue, click on the Administer Frontpage link and make sure that the albums are sorted by the way you want.

1) I've had NO issues with Yahoo. It wasn't until I switched to Yahoo from my old hosting company that things started working smoothly. And it's not speed issues I am concerned about here.
2) I tried G2 to begin with (on Yahoo) and had no problems there either. But I hate the layout of G2 and it's way too complicated navigation pages, so I re-installed G1.
3) I did try the Administer Frontpage link, but that only gives you the options of having the albums sorted by upload date, last reset date or physical name. None of those options will sort them the way they should be.

I am most curious to know why my gallery suddenly start doing this re-arrangement of the frontpage, even when I put them back in the order I want....

No idea. I haven't used G1 for years and can't remember how it functions. Maybe try running through the diagnostic tools under Admin Page and you can try validating the albums to try to make sure nothing is corrupt.
