Link from Gallery2 photo to Drupal User Profile

I am trying to create a link from gallery2 user photo (or album) pages back to user profile pages. The solution posted on the drupal gallery module page: http://drupal.org/node/155195 does not appear to work with gallery 2.3 and the developer and other posters have not responded to my emails. Does anyone know how I can create these links? It seems like something many embedded Gallery / Drupal users would need - but I've been unable to find any solutions via google. Thanks for any info!
