The path would be the path on the server, not the website address. It should look something like /usr/www/UserName/.... or /var/www/UserName/... Something like that. You can open the config.php file in your Gallery1 directory or even your Gallery2 directory to find these. If looking in the config.php for G2, then you'll need to change the part that points to G2 to point to G1. Or ask your host. |

Thanks but it seems like my problem grew overnight and at this itime I can't even get as faras I did before... After re-reading your FAQ and other stuff I have realized I didn't start right so I have uninstalled and removed the 2 gallery2 installations from yesterday, copied gallery1 into a new gallery and reinstalled gallery2 over the copy of gallery1. What a mess... Now when I go to galley2 I see absolutely nothing... Furthermore, in htdocs the .htaccess file is not visible from my ftp program so I can't see what's in it but when I run edit on it through the powweb file manager I see it has only two benign lines. Gallery1 is still running as should and so does my site. In your FAQ there are several cases for similar situations but not having .htaccess in gallery2 and not understanding other solutions keeps me lost |

For your FTP program you'll need to check the help file on enabling the ability to see hidden files. Probably under Edit > Preferences or Options > Preferences or something. I can only suggest making sure you follow these steps: I can still see G1 on your site. What you could do is install G2 into a different directory, ignoring that part of the steps for migrating (for now) and making sure that you can get a working G2 install. Once you get G2 installed let me know and I'll help with the next step. |

Thank you much So I have installed the gallery 2 in a different directory. when trying to migrate from gallery to gallery 2 I realized that destination name available is gallery (same as source) so I changed names gallery is now gallery1 and gallery 2 is now gallery. that got things stuck so I erased the 2 in the url and a migration wizard started but now I am stuck with three issues in the attachment. [i]I don't know where is php.ini (its not under my .htdocs), how to Run chown -R webserverUser /home/users/web/b2880/pow.ruvy/htdocs/Gallery 22/g2data/ or what to do with the modified file |

Is this a "one click" install? That modified file worries me, get G2 from the source here: http://codex.gallery2.org/Downloads I only every download and install Gallery from there. But it could just be corrupt from an FTP upload if you uploaded Gallery that way. For the set_ini issue and to change the permissions, you'll need to contact your host to have them help you. |
