Hello everyone, I'm bothering you again to ask assistance on some modifications.

First, you'd like to check this gallery example:
http://lnx.xradicaldreamers.net/azuland/main.php?g2_itemId=1517

As you can see, it is the Matrix Theme, but if you enter any of the galleries, you'll get the Hybrid item view.

I did this manually by changing the theme of each album into Hybrid. The reason is that I like Hybrid much better to see photos, but Matrix has better album presentation, with big frames and clear titles.

However, it's a pain to manually change each album theme and color everytime I create a new one, so I wanted to modify the matrix theme code in order to have hybrid item view mode (or modify the hybrid theme to have matrix album view mode... whatever's easier).

Eh, any ideas on where the code for that is located, and which theme do you recommend me on modifying from, matrix or hybrid? If it helps on anything, I'm also planning to remove Hybrid's sidebar to replace it with the Matrix left menu... it's cleaner and prettier. That might influence on what'd be easier for me to edit. :P

Thanks!

I would start with matrix and create a custom theme:

Thanks dave.

I've started experimenting parting from matrix... and I can't even budge the photo item view, duh.
Do you know in which .tpl file this is changed? I changed the code from photo.tpl just to test changes, but everything remains the same in matrix... perhaps other files are also involved in this, or am I completely on the wrong track?

You need to clear the template cache on each change to see your changes.
FAQ: How can I clear cached data?
Also don't enable caching in site admin -> maintenance.

I think what you are after is quite a bit of work since the hybrid theme is complex.
