I just deleted my old install and went from scratch using the tarball link. Hopefully the issues I'm experiencing are from a bad install. FF, XP, Apache, NoScript allowing everything on the site. Two issues:
First, the dialog boxes (such as "Create Album") don't dismiss. Cancel works but OK doesn't. However, the album is created. Makes it tough to know when something has happened, though, since "Rebuild Images" seems to hang the same way but it doesn't do anything (about ten images in all ranging to to 3MB). When I cancel it the status reads "Stalled."
Second, I can't view any pics. I get this:
Runtime Message
=================
An error was detected which prevented the loading of this page. If this problem persists, please contact the website administrator.
core/models/item.php [354]:
Undefined variable: resize_width
Stack trace
============
# themes/default/views/photo.html.php [27]:
Item_Model->resize_tag( Array
(
[id] => gPhotoId-15
)
)
[a whole lot more stuff snipped, let me know if I need to post it]
The multi-image loader is nice. I has assumed that during the upload process I would be able to pick an album for them to go into but they went into the 'desktop' (not sure what to call it) rather than into any album. I'll know better next time.

Thanks for the feedback!
I just fixed the resize_width bug (which I introduced a couple of days ago-- doh!). Get the latest code and check it out.
And I also just overhauled the multi-image uploader to use swfupload, which is more flexible. We'll be adding a feature to let you choose which album your photos go into, hopefully for the beta 1 release.

OK, I don't get the crash any more. But I don't get any thumbnails, the dialog boxes don't work, I can't tell whether the "Rebuild Images" is working or hanging, etc. In order to actually view an image I have to click the album, click the image name (to get to its page) and then click the image name to show the picture.
Basically the program isn't doing much of anything useful.
Is there a working demo of this, that always uses the most up-to-date code, just so I can see what's supposed to happen? I have to believe that you wouldn't have any testers left if they all had the results I'm getting!
I installed this one by simply creating an empty database and then following the installation routine in the /installer/ directory.

Check your log filesin gallery3/var/logs to see if you have any errors. My guess is that you're using GD and running out of memory in PHP.
FAQ: PHP memory_limit - Why do I get the error Allowed memory size of Xxx bytes exhausted? Also switching to ImageMagick or GraphicsMagick as your toolkit.

I also suspect this may be a case of running out of memory in PHP. A runtime error is usually the result of a program crashing because of corrupt codes. The software you're using might also have a few “bugs” or problems that the makers couldn't do anything with.

You joined to post to a thread that's over 1-1/2 years old about a version of G3 that was PRE-Alpha and essentially made the same suggestion as Bharat in his last post. Why?
