Possible to add functions?

Gallery version: 1.3.4-pl1

I know the version is old and outdated. Client does not like newer versions, stuck in old ways.
None of the other info really pertains to my question, and a public url is not available.

Im still kinda new to php, but tend to fumble my way through and get the results I want
but with a little more hair pulling then a pro.

To the point, I would like to add the ability when uploading an album, gallery also will copy
the highlight image to a directory outside of gallerys directory structure. Also if possible,
make it edit an XML file on the server, writing in the location of the new image, album name
and date posted.

My question would be if I was going to attempt this which file do I need to modify. Just point
me to right file to modify and I can attempt the rest.

Ouui,

is the Gallery heavy modified? I can understand that your client want to stuck with G1, but what about a newer G1?

Then i could help you much more.

Ok, poof, for the latest stable version of gallery 1, which file should I look to modifying for this.

Haha, I guess he was just someone that wanted to tell me to upgrade instead of pointing me to the actual solution.
