Can't Move items or albums

Gallery URL (optional but very useful):
Gallery version: 1.5.10
Apache version: cant find it
PHP version (don't just say PHP 4, please): v4.4.7
Graphics Toolkit:
Operating system: Windows XP
Web browser/version (if applicable): Firefox 3

alright, i hope you guys still provide some support for gallery 1...

recently one of my members told me he cant move items, or albums. When he chooses the MOVE menu, the dialog box pops up, but there is no box for him to choose where to move it to. just, blank, and the typical description.

this didnt happen before, it just happened out of no where. I upgraded from 9 to 10, and still nothing.

anyway, my questions:

1) how do i fix this?

2) and where do i find apache version? haha

3) will upgrading to gallery2 fix this? can i still keep the same URLs to the images? (from what i know, the answer is no, but i just want to ask anyway)

4) can G1 be upgraded to G3?
