Need help with embedding video.

Hey everyone,
I'm needing a little help with embedding videos and the correct way to do that. I'm basically interested in using two formats, mp4 and divx. I read this topic, http://gallery.menalto.com/node/78728 , but I got lost quick there.

What I'm wanting to be able to achieve is to add those video formats, either through the upload tool built into G2 or manually(if manually, please tell me where to put them/how to embed it), doesn't matter, and then have a player that has controls such as rewind, fast-forward, play, pause, stop, etc.

In the article I refer to, it appears that they are using the DIVX player for mp4 and divx videos, which would be fine with me.

I just need someone to explain the steps necessary to do what I'm trying to achieve.

I uploaded a MP4 video and it generated a thumbnail for it, but it's playing back in the QuickTime player and has no controls, which isn't worth a crap.
