where do I put netpbm and jhead files

I downloaded both packages but I don't know where to put them and when I try to run the installation via http://localhost/gallery but it says I don't have htaccess set up and the netpbm and the jhead but I do have all those things set up. If anyone has some information or would like to help please let me know......Thanks

Put NetPBM and jhead in your home directory, then provide the path to them on page 2 of the config wizard.
