Where is the image source location

Hi,

I want to ask about that where is the image source location after i upload the image file used gallery 2.2.5?
For example: i upload abc.jpg into photo gallery from web browser. after that, where is the abc.jpg after upload?
In database or in the folder?

Can anybody help me?
