Dave,

I searched through all of the files in the Gallery download and couldn't find the color.css file in there. I used Firebug to check something else and saw in the css pane a reference to color.css but I have not found it. thus, a URL isn't likely to help, I was hoping someone could tell me about this file and why I can't find it.

Ok then you find it.

View the source of your page. You will find that you are using a color pack. I have no clue what one so I can't help any further than view the source.
That is why I asked for a url.

this might be it but I can't tell:
http://codex.gallery2.org/Gallery2:Modules:colorpack

Fair enough. Here's the URL: http://lounge.diazerva.com/gallery/main.php?g2_itemId=67

Using firebug, click the 2-tone gray bars at the top of the page then scroll down all the way on the css pane and you'll see a mention to color.css

Thanks!

viewing the source I see:
modules/colorpack/packs/black/color.css

What is it you want to change?

Followed the path, but it ends at modules...no colorpack, etc., which led me to suspect these things could be linked to on Gallery's site?

I want to rid the page of the 2-tone gray navbars, ideally only have one set of next/previous buttons, replace the small gallery logo at the bottom with text saying 'Powered by Gallery 2', and a host of other things, but I figured I'd go in small steps.

One thing at a time.
the color pack css does exist:
http://lounge.diazerva.com/gallery/modules/colorpack/packs/black/color.css
It might not be in your local copy on your client because you might have used downloadable plugins to get it.

Dave,

I have not used downloadbale plugins...just the software from Gallery. Either way, this is getting too frustrating to change all this stuff. Thanks for your help though.
