Unfixed performance problem with user-albums

Hi everyone

First excuse me for my poor english.

I'm using Gallery on my personal website for more than a year and I like it very much, so I suggested using this script to one of my friends.

My friend is going to buy a Blog-service-provider website, which uses WordPress MU. He wants also to embed G2 with Wordpress MU, so that every blog-owner can have a G2 user album.

I have read the Gallery2:Modules:useralbum page. in the bug section it says:
But beware from using this module for a large user-base. There is still an unfixed performance problem with user-albums if there are a lot of users with their own user-album.

So here are my questions:

Are the G2 developer team working on that? (Is fixing this problem on the schedule or not?)

Approximately by how many registered users (with UserAlbums) will this performance problem show itself? (10 / 100 / 1000 / 10000 / ...)
I think at the begining we will have a couple hundred registered users max.

How big is the problem? If what you are saying is that after adding 1000 users to the Gallery, the Gallery will experience a performance drop of 30% (so we have to increase the number of cpu's of our server by 30% and everything is going to stay fine) this is not a problem for us.

Another option for my friend is to hire a web-developer to fix this problem. how much man-hour do you think will such a ProblemFix need? Could one of the G2 developers fix this problem for us for a fee? (Cause I think G2 developers are the best to do that)

Depends on the server. It is almost impossible to give a definitive answer with server variable beyond control.

Trying to revive this one-year-old topic - are there any news/updates on this item? Any chance that this performance issue will be solved in near future?

You're not giving us any stats of your G2 install.

But I can tell you there are G2 installs with millions of photos and 10,000 (and even one with millions) of users without any problems. Granted they don't run on low-end shared hosts.
