Redirect Loop

Hello
I have upgraded my gallery to latest version 2.3; all of the steps were done smoothly; i also created backup of database and finally got a message that Gallery is now upgraded but when i clicked the FINISHED button then was unable to see my main page. It display an error, 'Redirect Loop' which says that

"Firefox has detected that the server is redirecting the request for this address in a way that will never complete."
"The browser has stopped trying to retrieve the requested item. The site is redirecting the request in a way that will never complete.

* Have you disabled or blocked cookies required by this site?
* NOTE: If accepting the site's cookies does not resolve the problem, it is likely a server configuration issue and not your computer."

I am using Firefox 3.0.4
PHP Version: 5.2.4
mySQL: 4.1.22-standard
Operating System: Linux
Apache: 2.0.61

Please let me know what i have done wrong while upgrading or is some thing wrong with my server configuration. I also deleted my .htaccess file with URL re-write information but still it display the same error.
