Hi,

I've run gallery 2.0 for quite a while and decided it was time to upgrade. During the upgrade however, something went wrong, so I deleted the entire gallery and installed the latest version (2.3). Everything works fine, but I have a problem with the titles and descriptions of my images. On my 'previous' gallery, I had around 600 pictures which I gave a title, and most of them had a small description too. These are stored in the old database which I still have installed, but of course when reuploading my pictures to the new gallery (and the new database), they aren't there. I could copy and paste the titles and descriptions from the old database into the new gallery one by one for each picture manually, but this would take up a lot of time.

I really know very little about mysql (or computer programming in general), so this might be a problem. I'm not sure if it is possible to copy the titles and descriptions directly from the old database to the new one, but in phpmyadmin you can also (as far as I know) only edit one field at a time, so this wouldn't be much quicker than doing it in gallery itself (if there's a way to copy/paste entire parts of columns like you can in excel that would greatly speed up the process, but I don't think this is possible; I know you can export tables to excel or word files, but then I don't know how I could reimport the edited table back into the database). I also tried linking the old database to the new gallery, but that breaks the entire site.

Would anyone know of a way in which I can somehow "batch migrate" the titles and descriptions to my new gallery? Doing it one by one would take me ages, so any suggestions to make things go a bit faster would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks,

JaySee
